You are probably using hard ware that has drivers that are not compatible with your operating system.Try obtaining the right driver from the manufacturer website and then reinstall it and restart the pc.
Also check to see that the hardware is enabled and then go to network connections and you should now be able to see it.
-If it doesn't show up you might have to take it back for replacement because it might be defective.
