How do i take the fluid head apart

Probably by undoing various screws, allen bolts etc, but I would advice approaching this with great caution, as they are precision items and it would not take much to render them both useless. Apart from other considerations, how is the fluid contained within the head ?

I need a tripod head locking handle. This is the handle that maintains the vertical orientation of the tripod head.

Various makes of tripod head use different methods of attaching the pan and tilt handle. Try an Ebay search for spares for your particular make and model.

How should fluid heads be stored?

Alisa: With all 'video tripod heads'...., regardless if the are the original 'true' fluid heads (that actually used a liquid (oil) to achieve 'fluid' type movements) or a modern professional 'fluid' head (that actually uses a clutch mechanism like a cars transmission) or a fluid effect head like the Manfrotto #501HDV (which used nylon discs sandwiching a ball bearing race)...., always store with the pan and tilt mechanisms unlocked!!!! This means the camera platform should be positioned in the 'rest' position (not tilted forward or backwards), also ensure that any counterbalance mechanism is released so as to eliminate strain on the internal mechanisms!!!!
If you remember to do this and don't overload the head..., you will extend the life of your gear significantly

What fluid do i need in my 3066 tripod

they don't use fluid - maybe some grease in the tilt and pan of the head, but the tripod itself doesn't need any.. you might need an adjustment somewhere... I own 3 of these.

Head does tilt smoothly on 516. How do I get it smooth? Eric

Not fully understanding your question. You stated that the "head does tilt smoothly on 516. How do I get it smooth". What are you asking exactly? How to smooth out the pan as well, or how to make it tilt even smoother?

Fluid head platform is moving before the fluid

Below the head where it attached to the center column is a set of three screws. Back them out a little bit and then tighten the head, then screw those three grub screws back in to lock the head.

3030G pan tilt head

The little brass arm is supposed to be a safety switch. In one position the release lever bumps into the brass are and will not turn so the quick release willnot come off. In the other position the brass arm is away from the lever so it swings freely and the quick release plate will come off. With the brass arm open the quick release lever shoulde lock open until you push the quick releae in place. If none of this seem to work on your head, you may be missing parts. Pan control not fluid when tension increased

Sounds like you might have gotten some dirt trapped under there. You might try to loosen it and blow it clean.
