I need a WEP code for an Actiontec GT704-WG. trying to setup internet connection for wii, and the code that is on on the modem does not work .

You MUST re-set up the Router again, login with a browser, this time copy paste WEP/WAP code into a notepad document. for use on client (Wii) now after setting up the router, check the SSID, the NAME of the WiFi Connection. Save this in router. Then on the Wii, use that written down key, to put the key into the box, this will allow access.

here is a setup guide to help you get the wep key. Please try the following troubleshooting: Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router? Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance) Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters). If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types: WPA - PSK (TKIP) WPA - PSK (AES) WPA2 - PSK (AES)
If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering: From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model). If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings). If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router. Click here to go to our Wireless Router lookup page. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer. Click on your router's model number, if available. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.

I have seen this before and this has cured it:
Check the DNS settings in the Network panel and enter a manual DNS that matches the base address of the router (192.168.0.1 for this router).
System Preferences > Network > Ethernet > Advanced > DNS. Click the + sign and add 192.168.0.1. Click OK, and click Apply on the next screen.

You simply access the router's setup page by going to Internet Explorer and type http://192.18.1.1 it will prompt your for password, try admin by default. You can change the security key under the wireless tab and look for wireless security

WEP code error

If you're using 64-bit WEP Key, it would usually require you to put in 10 digits from 0-9 and A-F. so if you're putting in your wep key, make sure it's using only the characters 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, A,B,C,D,E,F.

How do i connect my actiontec GT704WG to my ATT dsl ?

You need to input your AT&T user name and password in the router's setup page and set the modem to PPoPE.

Changing Wireless Channel on GT704-WG

David,

Log into your Router, navigate to the Wireless Setup page, and under Wireless Settings, you can enter the SSID and channel to broadcast.

GT704-WG with Verizon firmware

I just flashed my verizon modem FT704-WG with the actiontec update upgrade301060gt704wg.img. I then selected "Obtain an IP Address through DHCP" and bam away we go... working better than verizons version.
