Compaq 8-port kvm switch firmware

May someone help me update the firmware or at least find out if I have the lastest version installed. I have version 1.6.11 installed. Thank you with your assistance with this matter.

I checked compaq website for support and couldn't seem to find any, and on the bottom of the switch it says its a compaq corporation series 4110. Thats all the information I could find on the switch itself.

Please be more specific about the model of your KVM switch. If you don't know it, it should be written somewhere under or on the back of the unit.

WizUnfortunately, upgrading the firmware on this KVM switch is quite a challenge. The Compaq 4110 KVM switch was actually manufactured by Apex which is now part of Avocent. Your switch is Compaq's rebranding of the Apex/Outlook EL-80DT from Avocent.
The upgrade of the firmware requires to physically replace the actual EPROM chip inside the unit! You may look at pages 64 and 65 of the user manual:

Being more than 8 years old, this unit has been discontinued for a long time and Avocent is not providing anymore support. I wish you good luck for finding an upgrade... maybe you will be able to find a replacement EPROM via Google or on eBay.
