Because this is an older model and the CU feet many not reflect the size you can now fit with newer models (better insulation, etc.), I'd suggest going by the dimensions of the opening and allowing for the manufacturer's recommended clearances.

Need to find out what size oven to buy to replace Magic Chef : 59GN -5TVW

The installation depths provided in the installation literature, are the minimum requirements for fitting the slide in range into place. You need to determine what the depth of your opening is where you intend to install the appliance. The depth shown on the installation instructions might be showing the overall depth of the appliance, including the oven door, which typically sticks out from the cabinet anywhere from 1-3 inches, depending on the brand, model, etc. The old Magic Chef might have only provided the needed depth for the oven body, and might not have included the front oven door projection, past the countertop, etc. Most cabinents are about 24 inches deep, so anything larger than that, will likely stick out into the room more, unless your cabinents are deeper than 24", you're looking at having the new slide in oven stick out past the front cabinet front/edge, by about 4 5/16". I'd make a cardboard template to the dimensions of the new oven and use that to see just what you're facing with the replacement oven. It could be possible that you've confused the depth with the width for the new oven, as I've not seen many ovens that are as large as 28" unless it was a Viking, or other really high end, professional style oven, etc. Check your installation dimensions again for the Maytag and make a cardboard template to confirm how much space will be needed. The good news is that you can remove the old Magic Chef, since it's not working, to allow you to make a more informed decision as to fit and clearances required for the new oven. Just be sure to disconnect the power to the range or unplug the power cord, if that's what it has, before attempting to remove the slide in. Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
