It would either be the WEP key or the WPA key that your being asked for. For computers it will be termed as the network key. Try to call you ISP or router manufacturer. Im sure they can help you get that information

Itouch can't see my network

Not that I am aware of , but you signal strength will degrade if all the devices are on and using at once. Also your ISP MAY "throttle" your service/signal with high data usage. That said, Your iTouch and xBox, in the setting , wireless, the iTouch should see the signal, Is the wireless turned on? It's discoverable? If your wirell has a Password, has a setup box on the iTouch asked for the password? Use the Manuals for the devices to troubleshoot connections.

Don't know my password

Are you looking for wireless network password or Linksys router password?
If you are trying to connect to the wireless network then it might be asking you for the wireless network key or the passphrase.
You can open the setup page of the router and check the wireless settings.

I want to know how to connect my ssid pasphrase located on the back of my router and when i tried to conect it to my ps3 conole it said it was weak and it couldnt find the acess point or something so can...

i'm going to assume that you are asking "how to connect your ps3 to your home network?"
if your home is set up with wireless modem or router and your computers are connected wirelessly its pretty simple to set up. more likely you or someone who set it up probably set it up securely meaning with security key and password. So you do have to know few things about your home network. like what is the name of your home network (SSID). the security setting of your home network. and finally the password of your network. if you don't know these things about your home network you will not be able to get connected wirelessly. but if you do have these info on hand read along....

JUST MAKE SURE YOU DO HAVE A WIRELESS HOME NETWORK... it definitely wont work if you don't have a wireless setup and u are trying to connect wirelessly. people overlook this no brainer.

Turn on your ps3 and from the XMB...
1) go to Settings
2) Scroll down to Network Settings and press X
3) Scroll down to Internet Connection Setting and press X. confirm on "O.K."
4) easy *it may or may not give you a message reading "checking network configuration"
5) wireless

from this point on you need to know few things about your network.....

6) scan -- once scanned it'll give you wirelss access point for you home network and some other near your home along with few information such as....
...SSID (which is what you set your network to be -- i.e. "the jones" or "linksys" or "summer home" or "my connection" etc etc) ...SECURITY (this is the password you set up your network with) ...SIGNAL STRENGHT (usually your network will be the strongest among your neighbors since you are closer to your router)
7) highlight your network and press x . (you should know what it is) selecting on the other network probably wont do you any good since it'll probably be all locked with password and such. yours should also be locked and have password on it too.
8) SSID which means service set identifier basically mean the name of your network. if your home network is set up with security and password your home network will not show up under SSID (this is one of the things you need to know about your home network. if you don't know ask the person who set up your home network)
9) on WLAN SECURITY SETTING page (this is another thing you should know about your home network or ask the person who set it up) -- most people i deal with have a WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK security password. Yours may be different so choose the one that you used.
10) WPA KEY - which basically means password. input the password you used to set up your home network (this is another thing you should know about your home network or ask the person who set it up)
**it'll give you "checking network configuration"
11) if you input all the correct info you should get the "setting list" screen
12) press "X" to save the setting
13) do the connection test and if all things were entered correctly you should have success.

all this seems complicated just reading but if you follow it step by step its easy. you just need to know the name of your home network, the home network setting, and the password of your home network.

on the other hand if you are setting up a wired connection it makes it a whole lot simpler. you don't need to know your network name, security key, and password.

make sure you have the ethernet cable plugged in to your ps3 and to your modem or router

1) go to Settings
2) Network Settings
3) Internet Connection Setting. confirm on "O.K."
4) easy *it may or may not give you a message reading "checking network configuration"
5) wired
6) auto-detect
7) automatic -- for the IP address setting
8) do not set
8) automatic -- DNS setting
9) automatic -- MTU
10) do not set -- PROXY SERVER
11) ENABLE -- UPNP
save connection setting
test connection

if your home network is set up and u got the ps3 connected it should work

Everytime i go to settings it says "no wi-fi" and when i first came home with my itouch it connected and now i dont know why its not connecting

Is the wireless router switched on, can other devices connect to it? If so try resetting network settings by selecting
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings, including passwords

After this try to join the network again

My itouch won't connect to my wireless network

This happened to me as well. Turned out the iPod touch doesn't support WEP encryption properly, and sometimes can't log onto those networks.

If your network is WEP-encrypted, try changing it to WPA.

Apple ipod itouch connection to wireless internet

don't let the iTouch connect to the wi-fi network it detected automatically - try setting up a new wi-fi network from scratch.
the setup screens will ask for network name (the SSID) the security protocol (probably WPA-PSK if you are having all this trouble) and the password (pre shared key)

should be all you need - good luck

ITouch won't connect to internet

I FIXED MINE THIS MORNING!!!

try this! If your iTouch says you are connected to your network but you can't surf and you've been able to connect in the past...you have to reset your network connections on your iTouch.

Go to Settings
Go to General
Go down to Reset
Go to Reset Network Settings
It will ask for your iTouch Passcode...enter it
Then, hit the red "Reset Network Settings"
After that, go back to "Wi-Fi" in Settings...
...and connect to your network again. It might ask you for your WEP password, if it does, enter it.
The IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router and DNS fields should now have entries in them.
Surf Away!!

Hope that works for you. It worked for me!!!
