Possibly you have a small (like the one that came with the camera) memory card, and there's not enough memory available after you've made you first recording?

How to pause recording on nikon d5100

With the same button you started the recording in live view. It is the start, and pause / stop button. As soon as you press again, a new recording is started. The camera will save every time you press for the second time a complete file. Later you can add them together in a computer or on you tablet, when you have the correct apps for that. Although some things can be done in the camera, I would advice agains it, because the functions are limited and you need to press a lot of buttons most of the time.

Check to make sure that non of the following apply to you.
  • Make sure LOCK function is not activated.
  • Make sure memory is not full.
  • If you have recorded 99 files in one folder. Try to record in a new folder.
  • You may have formatted the player with incorrect file system (e.g. NTFS or MAC format).
  • You must use the provided Digital Voice Manager (DVM) software to open the files.
If none of this things are you problem, then you most likely have a faulty voice recorder. Check your warranty to see if you can get a free replacement.

The power up problem perhaps can be solved by replacing the clock battery that is under the view finder arm. Move the arm to get at the small battery draw and replace the CR2025 button battery.

Hi,
It seems problem with hard disk that need to be formatted, please make sure you have copied/ transferred recorded files in computer or format HD will delete every thing on HD.
Press Menu button on lcd screen and select settings then select HD and select Format, it will take little time to format hard disk.
Now you can record in camcorder.

I want to know how to pause my camera while filming

To pause the camera in the middle of filming, fully press the shutter at the top of the camera to the right, the recording will be paused. (i.e the shutter that you pressed while the camera is in recording mode, that enables recording while pressed fully. You press it, it will pause and when you press again, it starts recording). This is possible because the camera is already in recording mode.

Olympus stylus 790 will only record video for 10 seconds?

The duration of higher quality videos is reduced to 10secs. You can only record lower resolution video for a longer duration by changing the type from Super High Quality (SHQ) to either HQ or SQ. This can be done by turning the menu whell to the video option, pressing the menu button, choose Image quality and scroll to HQ and press menu again. You will now find you can record for longer.

How do I pause while recording?

As far as I can tell, and yes the documentation is skimpy, when you press the 'record/play' button the video recording pauses. Make sure you press the video icon button, not the 'record/play' button to get it started again. If you press the 'record/play' button, it goes into a 'play back' mode.

Hope this helps...
