It sounds as though a sheet of paper or an envelope bunched up and has jammed inside. Until that is removed from the feed roller, you will continue to hear the 'grinding' sound, and won't be able to print anything. Remove the cover from the backside of the machine, then locate and remove the obstruction. If you don't have any such obstruction then you have a mechanical defect which is not user repairable.
verify that there is not any paper jammed and check the back of the printer if you are sure there isnt ..then the waste assembly needs to be cleaned of waste ink build up... the assy is located on the right side of the printer under the inks
open the printer cartridge bay, remove the 2 heads the color and black, wipe the contact points that are connected to the head and the printer with clean tissue with alcohol... Snap and release the cartridge and test it if it works
the noise is coming at the time of cleaning the cartridge.you can remve the printer top cover and right side of the printer you can see the waste ink pad .clean the pad and cartidge cleaning pad. put some grease in the cartrige cleaning pad moving unit area.
No Please don't oil any part of the printer, oiling may damage the complete printer first check if the nopise is coming from rear, Top, Front or side.
If noise is coming from Top than possibly top outbin roller are making noise.
If side tham may be toner cartridge or cartridge motor is making.
If noise is coming from rear than either fuser or the gear which rotates the fuser are making noise.
If noise is coming from from than Tray 2 pickup assembly or faulty tray is making noise possibly faulty registration assembly can also mak noise none of the part should be oiled only the faulty part should be replaced.
Mine always makes noise too, I don't know why. But I know that it's a lot noisier when paper quality is set for draft, so you might want to check that.
If you just go into the printer properties, under the tab that's something like Paper/Quality. There will be a drop-down list where you can choose the quality of your print out, i.e. Best, Normal, Draft or FastDraft. If it's set for Draft, you might want to change it to Normal. Draft uses less ink, but it also doesn't come out quite as clear, and is very loud.
The black printing usualy occurs when there is a faillure in the light, since your light is working fine, there may be a problem in the imaging device inside(camera) or the reflector. There is nothing wrong with the cartridge.
