I got the reduced power mode display on my 2003 silverado. Did a scan and found code 1516 TPS, sensor out of range. I bought a new sensor but cannot find anything that looks like it under the hood.
here is the complete GM manual troubleshooting PDF for this code, do the diagnostics, that is the only way to determine which sensor is at fault, the pedal sensor or the throttle body sensor, also are you sure you have the correct part, without doing the testing how would you know what to replace???http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/Bluego...here is the complete GM manual troubleshooting PDF for this code, do the diagnostics, that is the only way to determine which sensor is at fault, the pedal sensor or the throttle body sensor, also are you sure you have the correct part, without doing the testing how would you know what to replace??? http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/Bluegorilla/2009-01-17_041426_p1516.pdf

How many miles does it have on the odometer ? The reduce engine power has to do with the ETC electronic throttle control . May have TPS - throttle position sensor problem or the APP sensor . 04 Silverado REDUCED ENGINE POWER Case Study Part 1
I've had the same problem with the reduced power and tps sensor which is your gas pedal. I replaced it but the problem still existed. I then changed the throttle body and harness to the throttle body but still had the same problem. So I traded the vehicle. I did everything the dealer suggested and I just cut my losses. The Yukon overheating would be a different problem and should be easy to fix.
APP 1 and APP 2,Throttle position correllation. Whenever you get a reduced power,It will always be related to the throttle actuator, or APP (accelerated pedal position). There is a disagreement between both position sensor, or the TPS itself.
this is most likely a throttle body issue. accelerator pedal has position sensors on it but these trucks had some issues with the electric throttle body and harness plugging into it
DTC P0120 P0220 P1516 P2135 these should be the problem codes. 2003-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche, Corvette, Express, Monte Carlo, Silverado, SSR, Suburban, Tahoe, Trailblazer. for reduced engine power. p0120 is throttle position sensor, ( tps ). p0220 is relates to tps, p1516 tps is out of range. p2135 is a throttle body code, the throttle body needs replaced. but before you do it replace tps first to see if it takes care of the other codes. have a good day !!
it sounds me like the app sensor is bad, i dont think tps will cause reduced engine pewer, but app sensor will . u have to replace the trottle body to fix the app sensors uder the hood.
replace the accelleator pedal to fix the app sensors n the cab.
there is a ground wire in the big wire loom behind the intake if u loose ground ull get that reduced power issue i replaced throttle body and accellerator pedle n had the same reduced power few minutes after test drive came back cleared the codes then found a hit on idenafix for ground in the big wire loom ground went to fire wall and was bearly hanging on broke when i touched it fixed it witha crimp on fitting, havent had the code set since
Your Silverado's ECM has detected an issue and has reduced the engine power. You going to have the the truck scanned for the DTC codes so you can address the issue that is causing the reduce power to activate. Auto Zone scan free of charge, good luck and keep me posted.
