Question about HP LaserJet 9050n Printer

1 Answer

Printing Postcards When feeding postcards from Tray 1, if we put more than 3 postcards in at a time, after the 3rd or 4th one, the ink on the postcard is not fusing to the postcard, it just flakes off. We've tried refurbished fuser, and (at recommendation of Technician) OEM fuser. It will print okay for a week or two, then the flaking begins again. Technician says he thinks it's the power supply, getting worn out and not able to keep constant voltage. Any suggestions?

in your case the problem is the media that you used tray to change the postcard media or tray the post card media in another printer

What's the best paper to use in printing postcards?

I've been printing postcards for like five years now. And based on my experience, the best way to go about that is to print postcards using sturdy cardboard stocks coated on both sides for a high-gloss surface. This medium is best for shipping and for advertising purposes.

I need to print 6"x11" postcards with some protective coating on it?

From what I know, most digital printers can't do that. Digital printing requires heat that may damage the coating. If you want, you can just buy ready to use papers with coating from the store and print them using your digital printer. But the other way to go about is to print postcards from a reliable printing company like PritnRunner. They do postcards using matte aqueous coating that protects your print from smudges and fingerprints. Here's their site: http://www.printrunner.com/postcard-printing.html

Can not get the printer to recogonize the automatiac (tray 2) when printing postcards - keeps defaulting to manual which is one card at a time.

this printer was not designed to print post cards automatically unless the size is A4 or letter. You will have to feed it manually but do try playing with the printer properties within the pc or on the top right of the printer to see if tray 1 has been set as default.
Let me know of the outcom and good luck.

4x6 glossy postcards feed through slipping

Make sure that the paper meets the specifications for use in your printer.

The paper you are trying to use may be to heavy to be moved correctly through the paper path.

Ink from my deskjet 5650 smears off my glossy postcards.

Hello there jbaerpynes.

You must use HP branded glossy paper in this particular printer as recommended by the manufacturer. Because HP ink is much finer than most other inkjet printers, the ink sometimes does not set in properly on generic papers, especially glossy ones, and can smear right off.

Try new paper and get back to me. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to comment on my post. If I helped you, please give me a positive rating.

Thanks.

Postcard printing

You should find the proper setting under the "Layout" tab of the printer properties. Check the box "Cpombination" and from there you can select "2-IN-1". Make sure you use the bypass tray and select the appropriate thick paper for the weight. Lining up side 1 with side 2 is not guaranteed with paper above 210 g/m2 (thick 3) Hope this helps.

Printing postcards

Hi, You can print postcards in either the manual tray (1) or Tray 2 . But if you have a tray three installed you cannot print postcards, envelopes, etc... I recommend printing them from the manual tray and what you can do is either in your printer setting on your pc adjust which trays you want to use for printingpostcards. Or you can use the printers menu and go to paper handling and manual select which paper sizes you wish to use in each tray.
