MY MICROSOFT OFFICE WONT LET ME TYPE MY WORK IT SAYS ITS LOCKED
If MS Word prompts you to enter a serial number when it starts, your copy of MS Office is a free trial. When the trial runs out, the program will have limited functionality just like you mentioned. MS Word will allow you to read a file, but not write in the document.
In order to continue using the copy you have, you will have to purchase a license from Microsoft.com. But because the release of Office 2010 is right around the corner, they are having a promotion, which will allow you to upgrade to Office 2010 for free if you purchase a license for 2007.
The trial copy, when it expires will not allow you to copy/paste. If you need to edit it urgently, open the document in WordPad. A free downloadable alternative to MS Office, is Open Office, which works quite well.
Good luck.
