My Dell Inspiron 2200 works fine when on AC power but does not charge. How can i fix this problem?

hi,

Did you check already the condition of your battery?
Probably you have a defective battery and needed to be change already.

if you have a multi-tester at home, you can check your laptop output and battery output if they have a voltage.

or bring notebook when you buy a battery to try it before buying (some shop allows you to do it).

Hope I helped you.

Don't forget to rate me Ok! Thanks...

John

Maybe the charger is not putting out enough voltage and amperage.
Or, need a new battery.

Dell inspiron 2200 will not power on

Check your AC adapter for an LED showing it is getting power from the wall. Make sure you have no external devices connected, then try booting with just the AC adapter, next, just the battery. If still nothing, then your motherboard is probably bad.

sounds like your charging circuit isn't working or the adapter isn't putting out enough power or amprage to fully charge the battery, or you battery went bad. if the charging circuit is bad then so is *********** board, time to burry the system and buy a new one
