Unable to enter Asus 6850 BIOS

I would start by resetting your bios settings to default; turn off your system, remove the side cover and gently pry out the board battery (round "button battery" such as cr2032). Leave it out for about one minute, and reinstall. Then see if you get a post screen.

You need to download new video drivers from the computer manufacturer or go to Windows Update and let windows update all your hardware drivers. When windows finishes searching for drivers it will give you the choice of express or custom. Click on custom and look in the left pane. choose Hardware, Oprional. Download and install the selected drivers. Reboot the laptop and reset your video options.

My computer has an Asus A7A266-E motherboard that came with the 2 DDR slots holding 256 mb RAM each.(512 mb RAM) The maximum upgrade should be 2 x 1GB . When trying this it fails to boot with both 1 GBs...

I found this for you. Open it with Adobe Reader or the like.
From what I read, it should run!
It could be you damaged the RAM cards. But that's just one possibility.
And don't mix and match cards. They should BOTH be the same size or you're going to wreck something lol.
Hope I helped in any way, post a comment to let me know.

Asus motherboard bios version1104

Whether it shows your cmos checksum error press F1 to continue or f2 to load default.? If this is the problem than kindly switch off the system check for the cmos battery and change the cmos battery and set the date and time properly in the bios and save it by pressing F10.This will resolve your problem.and if not than check the jumper setting on the motherboard is it set to clear cmos and if so kindly remove and set it properly to adjacent jumper ok. Have a nice time.

My screen has gone massive and the colours have gone negative. help me?.................. x

Hi,

That sounds like your video card has gone back into VGA mode, 16 colours and a screen resolution of 640 x 480.

Go into the display settings and try setting the resolution to something like 1024 x 768 and the colour to 32 bit (16 million colours).

If the adjustment cannot be made, it is likely you have a graphics card driver issue. Find out what graphics card or chip you have and download a new driver from the manufacturers website.

Hope this helps.
