Hi Alisa, sounds like your dvd player must NOT be region free, The link below is a short youtube video showing you how to set your dvd player to region free for FREE, The site is (your movie finder. com) .......CHEERS..
IF there is a code for it you will have to check on some of the sites that have region hacks for DVD players. Not all players have the capability of changing them to region free. I looked to see if your model was listed on a couple of the sites that have directions, info and or firmware updates to change region settings on various makes and models of players, and I didn't find yours listed anywhere. It may use methods from other LG models, but you have to do a little research, some google searches and a little trial and error. Keep in mind that applying these hacks can render your unit inoperable and not recoverable. You might want to look into getting an inexpensive player from Phillips, Durabrand, Apex or one of several other manufacturers that are easy to find codes for and simple to change region coding, and in alot of cases cost less than 50 USD. Phillips are the easiest to get codes for and they are reasonably priced in most department stores like Target and Walmart or at Best Buy and Circuit City. Durabrand are Walmart brand players that cost 25 or 30 dollars and they are easy to do as well.
Power on the player with no disk in the drive Wait for the "No Disc" message to appear Press Pause and Enter on the Remote Enter 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9 on the Remote (the word COdE or FF appears on the display) Enter 0 on the Remote (0 = All Regions, 1 = Region 1, 2 = Region 2, etc.) Press Pause on the Remote Power the player Off, wait 30 seconds and then power back On
I picked up a LG DV276 DVD Player here in Australia but I am from the
United States so I own region 1 DVDs. I unlocked my new player by
instead 1. Open the tray. 2. Press 0 0 0 0 on the remote and a Menu
will appear. 3. Press 0 for region free. 4. Press pause and power off.
I can play everything now, Aussie and US DVDs. Thanks LJ66.
