I have a Hotpoint HSS25GFTA BB. The water is not dispensing. I know the microswitch is making and water is pumping because I disconnected the tube on the bottom of the frezzer door and it squirts water nicely when the lever is pressed. I tried running weedwhacker line up the tube in the door and heard it bottom out by the dispensing lever. I tried running it the other way, back down the tube that dispenses the water, and heard it bottom out at the same place, by the dispensing lever. At partselect.com I do not see the outer tube listed, nor where the weedwhacker line was bottoming out. What part do I need to order, or is it some kind of lever that has came loose and not allowing the water to flow? I also am not sure how to dismantle this section to gain access. Does it just snap together, (ie..outer cover just snap on)?

The above kit can only be used on models with a metal liner and will not work with the plastic liner models. Making sure the freezer temp is at 0 is critical! If it is below zero then this could be the cause. If it has a plastic liner and it freezes again after defrosting then the only solution is to replace the freezer door per ge. Hopefully you have the metal liner and can use this kit

Water is frozen inside the water tube that runs inside your freezer door. If you empty out the food in the door, you can use a hair dryer on medium heat to warm the frozen piece so it loosens enough the dispense out. Every 5 minutes, close the door and check if water dispenses. It takes between 15-30 minutes.

GE makes a dispenser water tube heater that attaches to the top of the dispenser tube to prevent frozen tubes. The part is WR49X10173. Check to make sure it is compatible with your refrigerator. Amazon and Walmart.com sells the part. Good luck!

GE / Hotpoint S xS Refrig: Will not dispense water

Remove lower grill and disconnect the water line going through the freezer door hinge. Usually it is a push lock fitting, which requires you to push the ring on the end of the fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling (not hard) on the plastic tube. Now place a pan under the separated plastic hose and try the water dispenser. If water comes out, your problem is a frozen water line in the freezer door. A warmer freezer temp may help, or you can order and install a WR49X10173 water tube heater. (the heater may take 24 hours to thaw the line, but I have used it successfully several times. Cost about $50) If no water comes out the separated tube when you try to dispense water, reconnect the tube at the hinge by pushing the plastic line back into the fitting. Now, at the back of the refrig., disconnect the water line going from the water valve to the fresh foods compartment. Try to dispense water. No water at valve outlet = bad valve. Water dispensed from valve now = frozen water filter or water line at back bottom of fresh foods compartment. (make sure you disconnect the right tube. If in doubt, disconnect them both, just get them back correctly so your icemaker continues to work) Send me additional comments if needed. Don't rate before you try all the steps.

I have a Hot Point refrigerator model No. HSS25GFTA WW. I changed the filter but water still not coming out of the despencer, every thing else is working normal.

Sometimes you will need to purge the air out of the line after changing the filter. Just hold down the water dispenser for a few seconds every hour or so.

Hot point model hss25gfp. can get water at coupling but not out of door dispencer . ice maker works fine. When coupling is disconnected and water is depressed water flows fine from the coupling.

The water line is frozen in the door .Turn on the dispenser light for several hours , or , use a hair dryer aimed up into the dispenser , or , use compressed air in the tube going up into the bottom of the door ( computer cleaning bottle with a small tube ) , or , air compressor hose at the bottom of the door tube , or , order GE dispenser heater kit pt # WR49X10173 ( it comes with instructions ) . After you get it working , turn up ( warmer ) the freezer temp only slightly .

I have a Hotpoint HSS25GFTA WW Fridge that has side by side doors with ice/water dispenser in the freezer (L) door. I still get ice fine but my water dispenser has 'died'. The water has always come out tap...

Hello:
It is very common to have the line in the freezer door freeze up. I would start there first. If that's not it then next step would be your water valve which is located in the back/bottom of the fridge. It is a dual valve( one side for ice maker the other for water dispenser). you can check that by taking off the front kick plate and on the bottom freezer door hinge you will see the line entering the door. Follow it towards the under the fridge and you will find a coupling. Disconnect it and see if there is any water coming out when you press actuator on the door .. If yes then its frozen if no your valve is Kaput.

Cheers

Inside my side by side freezer side (hss25gfta ww)

The ice maker water inlet valve has failed allowing water to pass when it is not supposed to pass. The water valve is item 800 of this link. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5203104&diagram_id=24933031#d24933031

Changing the water valve most always returns the ice maker operation back to normal.

Water will not dispense from door. ice machine works. it is a gold edition

listen closely when depressing the arm can you hear a switch being activated?? does the light come on when arm is depressed, if no to eitherr sounds like a faulty microswitch behind the dispenser if you do hear hte switch adn the light does come on then go to the back of unit and disconnect the plastic tubing leading to the dispenser the larger of the 2 plastichoses, place a cup under hte valve and depress the arm now(this way we eleminate the frozen of clogged hose. if still no water id say you have abad water valve( whoile back there you can also disconnect the wire leading to the water valve solenoid and check that for proper 110v when depressed.) if you got voltage andstill no water you def have a bad valve
