Are you talking about the seven ounce plastic mason jars? If you are, the options are peach rings, chocolate coins and gummy bears.

There must be something else stuck in the roller assembly. Or it wasn't mounted correct. He will have to dismount it, inspect each piece and carefully reassemble it. Make sure that the wires at the circuit board do not become loose or break.

Record player ''ejects'' frequently!

A very common problem with vintage turntables is that the old grease on parts of the mechanism underneath gets thick and gummy like varnish and then the parts do not move freely. One must carefully free up gummy parts with WD 40 and relubricate them with 3-In-1 oil. Look for gummy slider or trip mechanism parts that are actuated by tone arm movement.

Well, there's not too much to those assemblies. You might want to reload the drivers, pull the assembly and check for any loose parts, check to make sure there aren't any gummy bear leftovers or potato chip crumbs down in any of the cracks and crevices. If you previously used the buttons a lot, they may just be worn out.
Also, you may want to look around for a cheap used unit that you could steal the touchpad assembly out of.
