If it is a laptop or a notebook ..the actual hard drive it is placed in the back and it has a lid that have to be removed to get to it ..or it is for some models in side..and it slides in and out on a mount ..its just that easy ...look at the back to see if it has lids...its actually has to have 2 of them one for the Hdd and one for the Ram memory ...just unscrew and remove ..

How do I access my photo's on my old computer that has noplace to add a connection?

does the old computer have USB ports??? if it does than it's just a matter of connecting a USB stick and transfer the photos to it... you could also use a USB external hard drive, or a USB flash card reader, also a USB camera (the kind that taks pictures) not a web cam!!! you could even connect a Cell phone or Black berry equiped with a SD card and use those devices as a drive to transfer the files as well... you could also use the old computer to e-mail the files to your own e-mail and pick them up with an other computer by loging on to your e-mail account and save them... you could even take out the old computer's hard drive and install it in an other computer and transfer the files... When there's a will there's a way (or relatives) LOL!

Cheers!

Have replaced computer. Motherboard dead on old one. Is there any practical way I can get pictures and such from old computer. It will not power up. Thanks

You should be able to tak the hard drive out of the old one and put it in the new one as a secondary drive. There is a good chance, though, that the drive won't fit. If it doesn't, you'll need something like this.

My computer displays boot disk failure . is it true that if i put the hard drive in the freezer it will work again? i view the video in youtube

That is a myth and I would really recommend you to NOT try it as when it starts to dry out your electrical will get condensation in it then you will have to replace your hard drive and other parts instead of just getting a new HD

My computer will not recognize my external hard drive

the external hard drive's motherboard is burnt take it apart (this will be a little hard but it will come apart) after you take apart u will see it is just an internal hard drive in a case so either...

1) put it inside your computer as an internal or..
2) buy a new external hard drive case (that will have a new hdd motherboard in it)

after you install it either way your computer will reconize the hd and WORK i done this just yesterday.

Hard disk

This is also known as the "Click if Death" and is almost universally indicative of a hard drive failure.

So, replace the hard drive. Here is a good supplier, just select SATA or PATA (EIDE) as appropiate.

Any ways your laptop is ok.. Its a hard driver issue...

Replace the hard drive then make a try...

The hard drive get hanged when data is transferred to it and a noise is heard from hard disk

It sounds like you might have some bad sectors on the drive. If you do it might be time for a new one. Read this article for more info on how to check your drive.

Broadcom UNDI PXE-2.1 v10.0.9

The Broadcom PXE looks for a boot device/files from a network source if the network cable is't plugged in then you get the PXE-E61: Media test failure check cable, you can turn this off in the bios, when this doesn't find any boot information it moves onto the next boot device which is defined in the bios, usally the dvd drive then the HD. If this is a Altos server you have bought they are not supplied with an OS so it wont boot from the HD to begin with, if you already had a OS installed and it wont boot then there is something wrong with with the HD or the connectors or posibly the boot sectors are corrupted, if the device is making th tak tak noise the it is having trouble reading te device.
