Question about HTC TyTN Smartphone

1 Answer

3G logo Hi Guys, i have an HTC tytn. I only had it a short tme, used it online once, saw the HSDPA logo on screen while connected, now, I don't see the H, or 3G logo, only G or E...? Should I see the H or 3G logo when in a coverage area? I am in a 3 G cverage area, but still don't see the logo. IS there a setting I need to change? It connects to all internet and MSN, Skype etc, but only with the E or G(GPRS?)

What is the difference between HSDPA and HSUPA?

Hi there, HSDPA stands for High Speed Downlink Packet Access and HSUPA stands for High Speed Uplink Packet Access. These two standards are part of the 3G network and are your upload and download protocols. What that means is that HSDPA allows you to download information to your phone, like when you receive an e-mail or browse the internet, all information goes through the HSDPA protocol. When you send an e-mail, that data goes the HSUPA (the upload protocol). Any data going out from your phone goes through HSUPA. The two of them together make up 3G and give you internet access on your phone! I hope that helps! Alex

I think you get wrong HTC TyTN II unlock code my friend, try to get the correct one by calling your original network phones provider. If you need instant HTC unlock code, you can try find them from online unlock code store, you just need to wait for a couple of minutes and you will get new unlock code complete with instruction how to insert that unlock code in your email.

Connecting internet through tytn II

You need to install Activesync on your Laptop.

Then connect the device via USB. Once connected open the Comm manager, then you can select "Internet Sharing"

Select USB, and the network connection you want to use, then hit the connect button. You should see the laptop pick up and get an IP from the new connection.

Then you will be connected via your active network connection from the phone :)

How much of GB micro SD card does htc tytn-2 support ?

THe MicroSD card slot which can handle cards up to 32GB to satisfy your thirst for videos/music/photos/applications. MicroSD cards are now pretty cheap, I saw an 8GB card recently for $18.

TyTN II - Keep the phone screen alice during a call

Hi there,
Received the following reponse very promptly from HTC Support
---Quote---
This is actually a function of the phone and not a fault. It was designed so that when you were on a call and had the phone against your ear that you didn't accidently tap on the screen and open functions or end the call etc. If you wish to access the touchscreen while on the phone you can press the power button on the side of the phone to turn the screen back on. I have attached a 3rd Party Application that allows the screen to stay on while you are on a call. Follow the below steps to install the program. Attached is a patch for the TyTN II screen blackout issue.
This is not an official fix.
  1. Copy the KaiserTweak.zip folder to your pc's desktop.
  2. Connect you device to the pc via ActiveSync.
  3. Use the Explore function in Active Sync to copy the KaiserTweak.zip folder to the windows directory on your TYTN II.
  4. Disconnect your TYTN II from the pc.
  5. Open up file explorer on your TYTN II and go to the windows directory
  6. Unzip the folder to the windows directory on the TYTN II
  7. Run the Kaiser Tweak.exe to install the patch.
  8. Adopt the recommended configs, not the default.
  9. Soft reset the TYTN II by pressing the stylus into the little circle hole on the bottom of the handset.
If it doesn't work first time hard reset and try again. ---End Quote --- Thanks to the FixYa guys for thier intererst in this topic and problem Cheers Corpcc

Gprs

The gprs and 3G are Internet mobile wireless services from your Mobile Telephone Provider. The SIM card is able to connect to the GPRS network of your provider.(it depends on how far away is the closest hot spot). You have to activate this service and the access point can be found automatically. You should call the Technical Support of your provider or visit the web page for further details.Be careful with the cost. This is usually an expensive service.Good Luck.
