Did you notice fixya does not give money away anymore to first poster, the placeholder trick is only damaging other experts' solutions, please stop it. Many thanks

I had this mail from fixya

    Dear Ginko,

As you may or may not know, you are only
credited for a Premium Solution if the user click the "accept" button
under your solution (as the interface for Premium Problems is not
similar to the interface on regular free problems), or if after 7 days
no solution has been accepted. Therefore, you will not see additional
credit in your account unless your solution is accepted.

You can easily view a list of all your
Premium solutions inside your FixYa profile page, under "My Premium
Solutions". As our users have the option to repost their problem to
another Premium Expert as much as they want until the reach a solution,
we currently do not sent automatic notification emails about such
changes, as the amount of these emails could harass our experts. as I
mentioned, you can easily keep track of your Premium solutions from
    within your FixYa profile.

If you have any questions, you are more
than welcome to ask us at this email. we are aware of the fact that
things have taken more time to be answered lately, and that is due to
some reorganizations at FixYa, but we are doing our best to keep track
with requests and questions, and we will be happy to answer any email
    sent to us.

    The FixYa Team.

Now they pay us only if you get fixya (solution accepted) therefore placeholders as 'hello, I will try to solve your problem' etc. will only make more difficult for us to get solution accepted, as fixya does not pay anymore any non-accepted solution. Now I am at work, I can post this topic in lounge tonight, as the other problem now is that majority of solutions will remain unpayed. They should rise the prize to be fair.

If you want to start posting this things in the lounge you are welcome, you can report notice or text from my letter and tell that you knew from Ginko if you want.

    All the best

    also dude

let me explain my situation to you

i was in my semester exam holidays in december07.

i joined fixya in December end around 24th. got wiz in 2 days. started
premiums in 26th. was able to learn and make around 89$ by dec end.
even in my January month i was really working in a dedicated manner. in
Jan i made around some 326$. but everything was just passing my time. i
dint have belief that i will get paid.

but from Feb my coll started. so i was not able to be there online.
but for my surprise i got a payment of December. so i was really

and so i want to keep working more.

you came in Feb only right?

during the month of January there were two people named djnick and coolguy008.

do you know how much abusing those two were?

djnick was due to his very bad English and very bad solutions.

cool guy008 was taking each and every premium in right manner. no matter what ever field was he gave solutions up to mark. that too at a jet rocket speed. at the mean time he was the top ranker in giving free solutions. he stood first.

this is 99.99% impossible for a single person to do all from in single PC.

yesterday when i was searching for smile maker in orkut. i was able to figure out everything.
smile maker with his 7 other friends makes that coolguy008 login. they are 8 of them. so only 008. also in their site they say themselves as coolguys.
that meant that they are 8 people working from 8 different PC but with a same login. that is a drawback in fixya.
you can login from more than one PC at a same time.
a thing to be noted is that smilemaker was active in DEC end and starting of JAN. he was totally inactive in fulll of JAN month.
now he has come back again. because coolguy008 is taking rest reducing its heat level among experts.

what do you say this scam as? i have even said this to fixya team in detail in mail. but alas. no response.
i don't want to say those in threads also.
because it will damage image of smile maker also.

thank for your reply about the thing of payments.
i will try to post in lounge.
but as for now everyone is angry on me in lounge.
so i really feel ashamed to come there and post anymore.

because many of them there are really more older than me. robotek is a old man. many many are elder than me.
many of them here are for money only. but they dont accept that and say some polished replies. their replies reflect their anger.

its obvious why they get anger. its premiums. because its only affected ones(in premiums) who had posted in that thread. remaining experts dint come there. that itself shows that the replies are a outburst of anger.

i can see all of that. am a small kid in front of you all people who have loads and loads of experience in hands.

    anyways thanks ginko.
please don't take this matter to thread or lounge.
    let this be with you

    thank you my friend

    good day

How to earn/get money on/from fixya

In order to earn money on FixYa, you must become a Premium Expert. For information on how to apply, please view this Tip.

Once you have been approved as a Premium Expert, you will notice some changes on your My Expertisepage. First, there will be a banner regarding your preferred method of payment. Click on this banner and select how you would like to be paid. There will also be a module on the upper right of your My Expertise page called My Live Chat Status, as well as a link to your Account Statements.

Answering Chats
If you would like to do a Live Chat, where you assist the customer using an IM system, check the "Available" option on your My Live Chat Status module. Then, as long as you are on FixYa, you will receive a pop up to alert you to any available Chats in your Areas of Expertise. Please make sure you have enough time to do a Chat (up to an hour or more) and that you only assist one customer at a time.

Answering Premium Questions
Premiums can be found at the top of your My Expertise page with buttons marked $3, $4, and $6. Please view this Tip to see more info about Premiums.

Keeping track of your earnings

If your Premium Solution or Live Chat Assistance is "Accepted" by the customer, you will be credited the amount on the button (for Premiums) or between $6-$10 (for Live Chats). You can keep track of all the Premiums/Live Chats you have done by clicking on "Account Statements" (also referred to as your Ledger). One note about that- if something older than 7 days is still marked as Pending, then it has Auto Closed and another Expert received credit.

Getting paid
At the end of each month, FixYa audits Experts' accounts. If you have earned $50 or more, your account begins processing. For more info about FixYa's payment policies and schedule, please view the Experts' FAQ section on payments.

Feel free to email me if you have any general questions about FixYa's payment policies.

For any specific inquiries regarding your earnings, please email

How do i become a fixya pro?

  • You will have to post enough solutions for people to get ratings from them. For example, I put a tag at the bottom of my solutions, asking for them to give good ratings. When you have at least five in a certain topic (average approval over 80%), AND you have answered more than 50 questions in the same topic, you will be able to become an expert. I thought there was something wrong at first because when I answered questions it still said I have to answer 50 more, but that goes away once you get more than 5 ratings
  • Please reply if you have any more questions. Good Luck! Please give a thumbs up if I helped, I am two votes away to becoming an expert!

Hi Mr-brain. You actually are already considered an Expert, as are all the people who have answered a question on FixYa. I believe that you are actually asking about becoming a Premium Expert, which would enable you to access our paid system and earn money by providing support.

In order to become a Premium Expert, you must be approved by the staff. I see that you have already applied. Here is some information to help you while you are waiting for your application to be processed:

It seems like almost no-one ever pays the reward they set for their problem. I don't mind giving free advice, but I don't want this to be a complete waste of my time. how can i remedy this?

There is no remedy. This is the way it works.

I am an old expert and it is the same with me. Today I started about five or six hours ago and I did one single premium question and a couple of un-claimed bid questions. I won't probably earn anything.
In a lucky day you may earn more , but you cannot expect to earn a real salary. There are posters that try to use the system loopholes to earn money. Those may earn few extra coins, but some of them gets banned from time to time.
Last year it was a bit better. Crowd-sourcing is still in its innovation phase. This is what we got right now.

I would try to find other motivations for giving answers (helping others, showing your skills, the pleasure of winning a challenge etc.), and to welcome the rewards when they come. That is what I am trying to do.

How do we get paid by Fixya for answering questions?

Hi achintya1915, welcome to FixYa. While you can earn some money as a regular Expert by answering Marketplace Questions (see below for more info), you will have to get approved as a Premium Expert in order to access the vast majority of our paying questions. I see that you have already applied to be a Premium Expert. While you are waiting, you should review our criteria for Premium Experts- Make sure that all your recent solutions meet those criteria. As for what you are currently seeing, those are Marketplace Questions. They indicate questions where the asker has indicated their willingness to pay for a successful solution, but have not actually submitted payment. They are a good way to try out providing Premium-level support, but do not represent the bulk of the paying questions on FixYa. Please feel free to contact our Support Team directly at:

What are bonus earnings on fixya?

Hi BluWolve, welcome to FixYa! There are many ways to earn money on FixYa, but it sounds like you're referring to the questions with the green dollar amounts on the buttons. Those are Marketplace Questions, and they represent questions where the asker has indicated their willingness to pay for a successful solution, but has not yet entered a payment. If you post a solution to a Marketplace Question, the asker will have to pay in order to view it. If they do, they will then be able to post comments for you, if they require more info. If you have successfully solved their problem, they can "Accept" your solution, and you will be credited the amount on the button, minus a 15% processing fee (the actual payout is listed on the Post Answer page). If your solution does not solve the problem, or if the asker posts a question and you do not respond within 4 hours, the problem will be reposted for our Premium Expert Team to answer, and you will not receive credit. Since whether you earn money or not is based on the quality of your advice, make sure you're giving the best assistance possible! Follow the advice here, to create great solutions. You can track your earnings via your Expert Ledger. There are many other ways to earn money on FixYa, and you can read about them here. Please feel free to contact our Support Team directly at:
