Look for a wireless icon similar to the attached picture on the keyboard, it locates usually among F1 to F12 keys, if you don't see anything similar from F1 to F12, then try looking from 1 to 9 keys. Once it's located, press and hold down the Fn key on the keyboard and press the key with the icon (i.e. wireless icon) simultaneously for a couple of seconds, this will turn on and off the wireless function of your system. Let me know if you need further help with the model number of your emachine. Good Luck.

Where is the wireless radio switch

Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look onboth sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.

Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can togglethe wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN functionkey located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit willhave the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a towerwith the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will displayWireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.

Lost wireless capability

Why is there no lan? Did you somehow turn the wireless off? Are other computers able to connect to the wireless if so that means your wireless is probably off.

Some laptops will have a button to push that toggles the wireless. it might be located on either side or front or just above the keyboard.

If no other computers are able to connect then go to the wireless router and unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back up. If you have a modem and a router, you only want to unplug the wireless router.

Dear sir i am un able to enable my lg note book model xnoterd400's wireless adopeter

Good day,

There should be a switch on the outside of your notebook that disables and enables the wireless adapter. Sometimes it is a toggle switch and sometimes it is a combination of the function (Fn) key and one of the keys at the top: F1, F2, F3, et cetera. Look for an icon that resembles either an antenna or a computer with sets of lines around it. Once you enable the hardware switch, you should be able to go to your Network Connections and double-click the wireless connection to enable it.

How do you turn on the wireless function on the esprimo v5535?

hai

According to the laptop's quick guide this is how you enable and disable your wireless:

Radio components: Wireless LAN/ Bluetooth/UMTS

The installation of a wireless LAN module not approved by Fujitsu
Siemens Computers GmbH voids the permits issued for this device
(see chapter "Technical data", Page 22).

Depending on the device variant, wireless LAN, Bluetooth and/or UMTS may be integrated in your notebook.

On delivery, WLAN components are switched on, Bluetooth components off.

Switching the radio components on and off
Start the WirelessSelector using the key combination Fn + F1 .
The WirelessSelector enables you to switch the radio components activated in
BIOS Setup on and off individually.

BUWlMuireTtlSeososthLAN
Press the key combination Fn + F1 to start the WirelessSelector.

The radio component indicator will be illuminated when one or more
radio components is switched on.

If you switch off the radio components, the Bluetooth module, UMTS and wireless LAN transmission unit (antenna) will also be switched off.

You can enable or disable the radio components individually.

BIOS Setup allows you to specify which radio components can be switched on
and off using the key combination Fn + F1 .

Only those components that have been activated in BIOS Setup can be switched on and off using the key combination Fn + F1 .
Conversely, components that are deactivated in BIOS setup cannot be controlled using the key combination.

You can also activate and deactivate the radio components individually in the BIOS Setup. You must have assigned the supervisor password in order for this function to be available.

Pay attention to the additional safety notes for devices with radio
components provided in the "Safety" manual.

Details on using Wireless LAN can be found in the online help system
included in the Wireless LAN software.

You can find more information on how to use Bluetooth on the CD you
received with your Bluetooth software.

Have a new Satellite P305-S8812 notebook and cannot connect to the internet wirelessly. N Rounter just installed. Computer has B/G wireless technology. Do I need an adapter for the notebook to connect?

nope there is no need for any adapters

but all you need is to turn on the wireless adapter on your laptop and that would be either a button on the sides to turn on and off the wireless adapter or its a key (function key) on your keyboard (its always with an antenna shape and blue colored) if u have that key then click and hold the (Fn blue colored key) and the (antenna blue colored key) and release both that should turn on the wireless adapter.

and notice that with the new routers there is a security key that is already set up in the router (it should be in the back of the router and mostly 10 digits).

that should be all my friend

cheers

No wirless signal from router

What brand of router do you have? what specific model? check your router lights if the wireless lights are on, make sure that the antenna's are properly attached . By the way how many wireless computers do you have? if it's a laptop make sure to check if the wireless is enabled. Sometimes you have to turn on a switch or a button for the wireless to be enabled, or hit a function key (Fn+F4) most commonly. If none of these works, we'll take a look inside your router's user interface for settings.

Can't get my nephews up pavilion dv8315nr to my fathers router it won't pick it up

Ensure that any switches on the laptop are selected to ON.

Go to the CONTROL PANEL and select NETWORK CONNECTIONS look at the Wireless Adapter. Does it have a RED CROSS through it?

If so right click on it and select ENABLE.

If there is nothing there then the wireless adapter may be damaged.

Some laptops require you to press the FN and one of the F keys to switch it on.

Chris

I dont seem to be able to contect my new wireless g universal range extender/ access point

The Control Panel/Network Connections should show your wireless card. If you have a laptop, make sure the card is powered on. Most laptops use the "Fn" and "F2" button to control the card.Somee cards load a software program you can see in the taskbar by the clock.

Your router has settings for Channel, SSID, and Security. Be sure your card is set up to match them.

Once you get it connected, be sure to enable some kind of security to prevent unauthorized use of your internet connection.
Your router and card must have the same settings. Passwords (keys) are case sensitive.
