Question about Symbol Spark LS 1004
I am hoping someone can help me figure out how to use my LS 1004 Symbol Scanner. The scanner is quite old and probably hasn’t been used for a while. From what I know it was supposed to be used with an old IBM ThinkPad. I did not purchase the scanner and just found it recently. I would like to be able to use it to enter samples into an excel spreadsheet on a Dell computer. Is that possible? I read through the entire manual and am quite confused with what are the Host Type and the Synapse. The scanner I have is attached to an adapter, which can hook it up to the mouse/keyboard plug of the computer. I would greatly appreciate your help!
The host type are the Interafces which are supported by the scanner directly (no adapter needed). And the Synapse adapter can even an old scanner connect to new interfaces like USB.
As you state you have the adapter for keyboard wedge. You would just need to download the Reference Guide for the "Synapse Smart Cable" at support.symbol.com a configure it acccording to your connection parameters.
