Help with motherboard fan making noise

Hi:

As of late, a small fan on my motherboard, covering the nforce4 SLI chip I think, is making a ton of noise. Is there a way to remove it to clean and perhaps lubricate it?

Any ideas?

This board is known for doing exactly what your describing. what i did was removed the cover and fan itself and replaced it with a small fan from radio shack. when you go there look for a fan that is the size of the heat sink. Also you may need to find yourself some screws to place it on the heatsink. Try going to any computer shop as well they should also be able to help ya out.

hope this works.

Non-stop beep sound and won't display

A constant beep, usually indicates the post is detecting no memory installed. This is usually caused by the memory not being installed correctly or incompatible memory. double check you have the correct memory for this mother board. If you have 2 chips, install one and test. If this does not work swap the memory and try again. If both chips fail, you might try a different brand of memory.

Plastic fan housing over processor retaining pins snapped meaning fan fell off can i get a replacement and where

this problem happened me too. but unfortunately there is no replacement or spare part for this.
but instead of wasting time by looking for a spare part buy a new fan.
it is not too expensive.
for example i bought a "Cooler master Xtream" fan about 10 USD.

Try replacing ram on another slot (common solution for most of the problems like this) , remove the cmos battery and place it back after few moments. Try remove and place Graphics card again.

It should solve your problem.
