I thought it was the battery, but even after installing a new battery the LED indicator (sort of a broken circle with a line at 12:00) flashes and it won't power up? Any help greatly appreciated

Hello... I am facing the problem with the NOVO key too and the solution given here http://www.fixya.com/support/t1919382-problem_novo_key didn't seem to work for me.... I also got information over the net, that if partitions are altered, then NOVO key wouldn't work.... and FYI I have not touched the partitions at all. The "vista" on my "Lenovo Y500" crashed all of a sudden and since then I am unable to restore it to the "Factory settings". Also I am unable to recover the Factory settings with recover CD. Am I missing something here??? Can anyone please help me with this issue ? This Y500 model seems to be a **** for me.... the Laptop works a little wierd especially the DVD drive.... anyone else facing the same problem???
the ZV 6000 would not power up at all, so I bought a new battery, and followed instructions to allow it to discharge and recharge. The discharge worked, but nothing since, and yes, the adapter/charger is plugged in. The blue flash sign will flash once, sometimes twice, when I press the power on key.

My battery indicator says full, the battery is in and the light goes from amber to green but when I unplug the AC power the laptop turns off.
I had the keyboard replaced because of sticky keys, and sine then it does not work on battery, is there a setting to turn the battery on?
I have a zv6ooo HP laptop. It runs beautifully. However, I am about to go on a road trip and want to continue doing some offline work. I have never had the battery in the computer. To charge it, do I simply put the battery in and plug it into the AC outlet. Dumb, I know! I've never been where I needed to use the battery.
