Question about DVD & Blu-Ray Players
Cannot detect device.
I installed kworld disk program for patch cord to download video content from PVR (TIVO type) Satelitte receiver.
Program said it did not detect a DVD device. (System is XP)
I just tried on another (XP) computer and it would not install. Message 'can't detect any device came up'. This is a very new Dell with a DVD burner.
SOURCE: Cannot install on Windows XP
I was a little frustrated reading the above...being a PC user....apparently, this work well for Mac users
first, you must 'charge' the unit for 3 hours.
IT IS an easy fix...uninstall the Picture Viewer that you got from the Disc they gave...Throw it away. Go to www.mscustomercare.com at the top of the keychain section, it says "download".............. THIS version works.

I spoke to JVC reference this problem and they suggested I returned it to them and they would check it. They collected the burner from my address checked it found there was a problem and gave me a new one.

SOURCE: Just purchased a LG External
The LG USB Booster (Hitachi-LG) software is poorly implemented and is easily upset if it finds any conflicting USB devices when it scans for the drive you want to use the booster for.
Unplug all USB storage media except the drive that is intended for use with the USB booster software, then install (ignore the error mentioned earlier in this thread if it appears - it appears to be a problem with the updater.exe program) Next, run the "BoosterProgram.exe" which should be located in the "C:\Program Files/LG USB Booster" folder.
All being well you should now have the option to enable the USB Booster feature.

The DVD AGG (automatic gain control) is somehow being fooled into thinking the non-commercial tape has macrovision (copy protection). Is this a relatively inexpensive machine?

When operating, errors happen. Turn off the device.
(To turn off, press and hold the power button on the front
of the device for 10 seconds.)
After turning off, press the Open button and remove the
disc from the device
If needed reset the device to its factory settings after the disc is ejected. To reset it to factory settings:
Press the [UP] and [DOWN] buttons on
your DVD recorder simultaneously
when the power is on. All settings
including the password will revert to
the factory settings. Do not use this
unless absolutely necessary.
(Note that this function is possible only
when no disc is inserted.)

If you have Studio version 12, download the latest version here.
If you have Studio version 11, download the latest version here.
Note: Studio 11 patches will only patch a previous install of Studio 11.
If you have an older version of Studio (Studio 9, 10, or 11 etc), it is advised for you to update to the current Studio software. The current version is Studio 12. Click Here to go to the Studio 12 Upgrade page.
How to download and install a patch:
• BLANK MEDIA IN THE DRIVE: Make sure that there is a blank, write-once media or rewriteable media in the DVD burner.
• TYPE OF DVD: Make sure that your DVD burner supports the media you use. As for any problem with burning a DVD, we recommend customer use rewriteable media to reduce the number of wasted DVDs when they have to troubleshoot a failure while burning DVDs. In this case, if you have only used rewriteable media, (RW) we would also recommend trying to use a write once (-/+ R) DVD and erasing the RW media.
• BRAND OF DVD: Pinnacle recommends using a name brand of DVD, i.e. Sony, Apple, Memorex, etc. Also we recommend trying a DVD from a different manufacturer to see if the problem is related to the brand of DVD that is being used.
NOTE: Check with the following site to find information on the media being used.
