had unit repaired for rings of death and before sending away for repair we disconnected memory. got it back reconnected memory and cannot retrieve profile to gain access to memory to stored data. is there some how to find out our initial setup of the x box when we first purchased it because it keeps asking for our user name and password to retrieve our profile and when we enter them it keeps saying invalid. we really dont want to start over again and lose all of our memory because we have a 120 gb and we have alot of things stored

Is the profile unable to be recovered or is content connected to the profile unavailable?

Try a license transfer at www.xbox.com under support. Sometimes if your console is a basketcase microsoft will send you a new one instead of reparing the old. if this happens it can cause all kinds of crazyness. If that doesn't work try contacting support at 1.800.4my.xbox.

How to download a profile to a x box 360

There are two ways to move/download your xbox 360 profile. One way is is download it via an internet connection and the other is physically transferring it via usb drive.

To download your profile press the xbox button in the middle of your controller to access the xbox guide and then select download profile.
If you do not see this option sign out of your profile first.
Then enter your profile information. If you do not know your information check out this site in order to retrieve it.
http://support.xbox.com/billing-and-subscriptions/account-management/forgot-microsoft-account
The rest should be pretty easy. Just follow the prompts and your profile will start downloading.

The second option requires some sort of external memory device like a USB drive. This option still needs your account information so make sure you still have that handy.
Plug your external memory device via the USB ports on the front of the console (or the one on the back if those are full). Then go to settings in the xbox home page and then select storage, All Devices, Gamer Profiles. Select the Profile you want to move and then select Move. Move your profile to the external and reverse the process on the target console to upload the profile to the hard drive.

If any of these instructions are confusing or you would like more detail, check out this xbox support website for more information.

I loset my game card or profile of the game xbox 360 live gold

You can go onto the Microsoft Xbox help website and put in your account info and you can usually retrieve the login info or you may need to call Microsoft Xbox Live support to retrieve the login info and just give them your account information.

I recently bought the new xbox 360 and when i enter my email address a whole new gamer tag came on and not the one where i have xbox live what can i do?

the only way this could happen is if you entered the wrong email address. Try to recover gamertag in the profiles section and enter the correct email and password to see if it can retrieve your actual gamertag and profile.

Xbox live account states "corrupted

Hi. Try this. You will lose any achievements you have earned since your profile went offline.

  1. Power on your 360.
  2. Access the dashboard, go into system settings, then into the memory option. Find your profile.
  3. Delete the corrupted profile.
  4. Sign out of your profile if you're already on it! Press the Xbox guide button press X and select sign out.
  5. Go into "my xbox" on your dashboard
  6. Select "recover gametag" in the dialogue box. Press A to select it. Follow the instructions to repair your profile.
  7. Enter your gamertag in the Xbox live gamertag dialogue box that pops up
  8. When process is completed your avatar will appear in the sign in area of the dashboard

My profile has become corrupt, is then anyway i can retrieve the information

Yes, if you lost your profile, and it was registered with XBOX LIVE, you can sign into Xbox Live, go to the dashboard, and in the dashboard there is an option called "Recover Gamertag" which you can click on to download your profile back to your Xbox.

If this helped you, please give me a thumbs up! I get cookies if you do! :)

I erased my profile by accident the other day and all my achivements were gone. is there a way to get it back?

You might be able to rectify the problem.

Was your account on Xbox LIVE? Click the Recover Gamertag option, and fill in all the details. Then allow your Xbox 360 to redownload your account.

If your account wasn't on Xbox LIVE, there is no way to recover the account, sadly.
