Question about Coby CTV-555 5 in. Portable Television
I a have a TV set TCL 29" (74 cm) model EC2988 (flat CRT screen) working since 3 years cm. Since 4 months, i got some red flashes in the screen without any apparent cause for a very short time. But after every thing became normal except that the brightness became bad. I tried to adjust (increase) all the parameters (COLOR, BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, SHARPNESS) to obtain a good picture but i couldn't. I also change the input poit (from RGB to RF port)with no result All the colors are presents
Thank you for any advise

SOURCE: No picture on coby tv
I'm not certain but it sounds like there is a loose video cable in there...if you are able to, take the tv apart, and literally push on all of the connectors and cables to make sure they are not loose. The main video cable may not seem to be loose, but once it is making contact again, it should clear that mess up. Just look for cables running to the main screen and pull them off and put them back. Then put the tv back together again and see if it worked...it usually does. why does this happen? Some blame it on dust, others blame it on quick manufacturing processes...whatever the case, the cables become slightly seperated from the controller board and that happens...it also happens to computer monitors too...Good luck and take your time. If there are a lot of screws and things either take pictures of where they all went or write it down. I like to make a diagram on a piece of paper and tape the screws on the diagram to show where they went.
