There are numerous ways this can be fastened. You just have to try to figure it out by looking at it.

Some keys have a little rubber "dohickey" under them. Make sure that one isn't missing.

Try tapping the Del key. Also try F11, if neither of those work, then try these combos below:

Remember to hit these key combos before Vista loads, only when you sure the keys were pressed, cross it off the list on move on. When you do determine the correct key combo, please post back here, it will help others with the same question.

Enable numeric pad

It depends on your laptop. Try pressing the Fn key + F11. This works for the Satellite M305D-S4830. Usually the key you need will read Num Lock (or NumLk). Usually it is one of the function keys if you do not have a dedicated function key. However, the label will be in a tiny font and in a different color to indicate the need to press the Fn button with it.

Please add a comment with the model of your laptop. There are some models where you need to bring up an on-screen keyboard to access the number lock. I hope this helps.

I don't know where num lock is

The NumLk key and ScrLk key are the same key and is located above and near the F10 F11 function key. Hold down the Shift key then press the NumLk key

I have a msi u130 netbook keeps saying wirless capabillity is turned off after pressing the F11 any ideas

The key combination for turning the wi-fi on-off is the Fn+F11 (not just the F11). In case this is not working you might have problems with the drivers. Use this official link and choose your op. system (win xp or win 7) and download the wi-fi drivers.

In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

My f11 keys doesn't work and can't turn on my wireless.

i suspect your f11 key does work, try opening a web browser and while it is open press the f11 key if your browser goes full screen the f11 key works just press f11 again to return it to normal. Try pressing and holding the fn key and then press f11 that will switch your wireless on and off

Dear user,
if you are trying to access bios for setup of CD ROM as a first boot device and having problem to access the bios then here is an advice for you.

most of notebooks or systems have a special key assigned to select the boot device at startup without entering in bios setup. therefore please hit function keys at startup like F9,F11,F12 when you start system. F9 and F12 keys are most commonly used for boot device selection.

hopefully you will understand my advice.

Keyboard types upper case digits instead of lower

It sounds like you may have turned on the calculator function - Does one of your F keys have a light on - F10 or F11, if so Press Fn and the key that is lit up.
