I have a Nikon s220 coolpix and everytime I turn on the camera the lens opens, makes a strange noise and closes - it does this 3 times and then I get a lens error message on the screen. Do you know what is...

Try one of these two fixes, if they dont work for you follow the link below for further troubleshooting.

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Fix #1: Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in (preferably rechargeable NiMH 2500mah or better) and turn the camera on. If that didn't work, try pressing and holding the Function or OK button while turning the camera on.
Fix #2: If the camera's batteries ran down completely while the its lens was still open, the camera may show a lens error or not start properly when new batteries are installed. Remove the memory card and keep it removed, then install the new batteries. When you turn the camera on with the card removed it may come back to life, as this triggers a reset in some cameras. Error E30 (for older Canon's) means that you don't have a memory card installed, so turn it off, slip in the SD card and turn it on one last time

Everytime I try to turn my camera on it keeps saying "Lens error, restart camera". And the lens only goes out part way. What could be wrong with my camera?

ıt seems to be your lens is blocked by internal moving parts that could have been damaged due to dropping or hitting it (either camera or just the lens ) to a hard surface.
I recommend you to take it to the nearest photo repair shop to a expert examination .If you are lucky, and if it is not a serious damage they may correct it easily.

My camera sony smart zoom dsc-p43. everytime i

Hi there
First of all check to make sure the cards write protect is off, take the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this 59a6de4.jpg .
Pop it back in the camera and try to format the card again, if you get the same error message again there could be a chance the card is damaged.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Everytime i turn my camera on it say card error? what does that mean?

Remove the SDcard from the camera and turn it on. If the error disappears, you most likely have a defective SD card.

Check the SD card. It could be defective, or have dirty contacts. Try cleaning the contacts with some isopropyl alcohol and check. If that does not work, you may have to replace the card.

Fujifilm z10fd card error

Easiest way to fix the problem is to "format" the card using the set-up menu. Follow the steps from the menu to the format setting. That will erase everything on the card, including any images that are on it. It will also wipe out any bad or corrupt data that may be preventing the camera from reading it properly. It's pretty common.
