sources.."just remove or pick open the cmos battery (+3v) from the

Hi, Turn the laptop upside down, the optical drive (CD rom) will now be on the left hand side, near the back of the laptop you will a release catch which is spring loaded, push that catch and slide the optical drive out of the laptop.

in cloning, it is best if you use a software, if you do this often, i'de recommend the Norton Ghost, but if this is just a one time operation, just use a safe freeware to create and image of your exsisting HDD.

Have you tried viewing in a different software, as i found that acer use a form of Power DVD as their standard movie player which comes installed with the system.
Try viewing in media player for example.
