HP L1706 monitor with thin white/blue horizontral line

Our school recently purchased 28 HPL1706 monitors and to date 2 have developed a thin horizontal white line across the screen. On the first the line is 1/3 from the bottom of screen and on the second 1/3 from the top. The pointer appears to pass underneath this line and it is not a scratch. When monitor has no input line appears white and of different intensity in different 1/3s of the screen - we await HP's comments but don't expect much being a school in Malawi'- I always said we should have gone with Acer's as we have had no problems from previous monitors.

Did you try using a "Y" adapter cable. That would allow you to connect to two devices.
