I have a new computer and cannot find the information on how to download software so I can download pictures from my NIKON Coolpix 4600 on to it. Can you help?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). ok I figured out how to do it! put the memory card into the camera, then go to view the pictures. Then press the menu button and scroll until you see the copy button. Then you will see the option to copy from camera to card, or card to camera. Press the option to copy from camera to card and press select all....(or whichever pictures you want copied...I wanted all pictures copied). Then voila! it takes a few seconds to copy from the camera to the card, and there you have it! :)

Go to store and purchase a memor card reader/writer. It will allow you to put your memory card in it and download the pictures to the computer via the usb port. Make sure the reader/writer is made to accept your type of memory card.

That is the only Nikon software that supports Vista since your camera is "outdated".

PTP (models supporting the PTP protocol) and Mass storage USB transfer options can be used for camera connection. However, the camera's transfer button can not be used to transfer pictures over a PTP connection. Set the USB transfer option to Mass storage to enable the camera's transfer button.
  Currently, the new Nikon Transfer and View NX will replace Picture Project as our new Image Transfer and Browser applications. These applications support the same Nikon products as Picture Project.
