EVGA Geforce 8400GS is compatible with FOXCONN G31MV-K Motherboard?

Check your installed ram sticks. (one at a time) the card is compatible with your board But the problem may be with your operating system and not the hardware. on start, press F8 and select "Last known good config" if the system still fails you may have a duff card.

K8n-dl mb does not post. only action that comes is beep/beep off/beep/and on and on. This is with only one processor in and no ram. put pciexpress video card in and screen is blank. put second processor in...

The beep beep code is an audible code telling you that you have no Ram installed. You cannot run this board without system ram. Fit some system ram and connect a video card and a drive. Make sure both cpu's are fitted and try again. If it still beeps, note the length and number of beeps and go to the ASUS website. You can find the audible codes in the support section under bios fault codes..

Help about mainboard MSI-7312 ver 1.0

ya u can purchase AGP8x graphic card. But
AGP8x slots become old, now PCIExpress 16x is in the market it is better, advance gives higher performance for games and software than AGP gives.
AGP is also costly than PCIE graphic cards.
So, i want to suggest u that u should purchase Intel Original Board
of G965, G45 series boards it has lots of benefits configuration with DDR2, 4SATA ports, PCIE-16x and u not need to purchase graphic card
because these board supports T&L it has 256MB to 384MB inbuilt graphics which can play most of the high graphics games without graphic card. I am to using G965RY board with 384MB inbuilt. but company has stop manufacturing this board. Now more better boards have launched in the market which is better then 965RY.
Now its upon u what to do. Good Luck

MSI board-no video or booting.

  1. Clear the CMOS by moving the jumper one step aside which located near the CMOS battery for at least 30 seconds with power cord unplugged, then put it back again to its normal position.
  2. Enter BIOS by tapping Del then load the Optimized Default, then Save by pressing F10 key.
  3. You can customize the BIOS after computer has been starting & running properly.
  4. Please check RAM and VGA card whether they have properly attached in their slots before you do the 1st step.
  5. If all above don't work, please replace your VGA card with other PCI-E VGA card that is still working fine.
  6. If all above don't work either, please replace the PSU with greater output from better brand. You can visit www.corsair.com to calculate how many Watts your system is needed for free.
  7. If hell still can not boot or no display, replace the motherboard

Re : graphics card nvidia

No the P4MV890 is very differant then the P4MV8. People like myself & others at FixYa need the correct model number to find the correct soulation. The P4MV8 has an AGP slot & the Integrated VIA® UniChrome Pro 3D/2D Graphics. The P4MV890 does not have a APG8x. I posted everything you need to correct lockups. I'll past it here for you:
sleepoholic, this is what you need to do. You can not run both at the same time. The Integrated VIA® UniChrome Pro 3D/2D Graphics & the PCIExpress. This is why your getting lock-ups. Enter your Bios setup menue. Go to the Advanced section. Pg. 25 in your manual. You'll see PCIPaP Configurations. Click it & than click
PCIE/PCI operatin mode. From factory it is set to [Async.mode]. Click on it & see what other options you have. You want to set the PCIExpress card first. Not the UniChrome Pro. Your on board UniChrome Pro is using your system1.gif memory. You no longer need to do that. The UniChrome Pro is not like an AGP card, which is a lesser card compaired to the PCIE. And theUniChrome car is a PCI, which is a lower end card compaired to the AGP. Your CPU1.gif & PCIE have a direct link to each other. OK? The AMR slot is for a modem. Most people do not use the AMR, they just use the PCI slot. AMR is supposed to be able to transfer data faster. (Sure!).Here is the link to your board: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=P4VM890

About upgrade my graphics memory

Your Intel D915GLVG has a integrated PCIExpress built into the board. Your system memory is shared with the built in video card. This board's memory can handel up to 4GB of system memory which up to 512MB can be shared from your system memory. If you wanted to disable the integrated 915GL Express Chipset with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900. You would be left with two PCI slots. Running a PCI video card is slower than a AGP card & two notches down from a PCIExpress card.
So in order for you to acheave what you want your going to have to increase your system memory. If you still have your manual the specifactions for your memory is on Pg. 9.
The link below is a list of supported memory from Intel.
http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d915glvg/sb/CS-027048.htm
If you no longer have your manual you download it from this link:
http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d915glvg/sb/c996091_en.pdf
Though you can check aound. I can suggest this mamory which will give you 2GB dual matched memory that is within your boards specifications. Listed at this link. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1075233&CatId=1352
You will still have two memory slots free to upgrade to a total of 4Gb at a later date. So please do not disable your current video card. Please use your manual when installing memory. Two Dimms go into certain slots on the D915GLVG board.
Enjoy!
