Successfully installing Hyper-Utility2 on my Mac

Hi Paula,

Something that happens with Macs is the file permissions get messed up from installer programs. This problem usually can be corrected by running the disk tools program. It is usually located in your Applications folder in the Utilities sub folder.

You did not specify with version of OSX your Powerbook Pro is running. Make sure you have all the updates from Apple for your OS. You might also need to get an update from Fuji for the Hyper-Utility2 software. That can be found here: Fuji

Lastly, iPhoto is compatible for quick downloads from your camera

Can I install/point to Dig Camera w/o installation disk?

You don't need to install anything.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I am trying to download software for quickcam pro 9000 and I get a message saying internal erroe 2738

Vista for some reason doesn'tregister VBScript. What you have to do is first of all find wherevbscript.dll is, mine is in C:WindowsSystem32, but I think itchanges dependent on your version. Next you need to go to start ->accessories and then right click on command prompt and click "run asadministrator", next type "cd C:WindowsSystem32" (replace the directory/path ifits different for you) and then type "regsvr32 vbscript.dll". It shouldthen confirm that vbscript has been registered and everything shouldwork.

If that does not work, try a clean install.
The following instructions willwalk you through this process:
  1. Remove the older software.
a. Unplugthe device from the computer. Later you will be prompted by the softwareto plug in the device; do so at that time only.
b. Openthe Windows Control Panel.
c. Openthe Add / Remove Programs window.
d. Locatethe listing for the device software/driver and remove it. When prompted toremove the device files, click Yes.
e. Locateany other device software/driver and remove it as well.

Now download the latest version of QuickCam for your OS from here:,en

It's not something I own, but I have had some luck disabling DEP in XP. Look up XP DISABLE DEP on There can be many other reasons such as spyware damage, firewalls and more that are "in the way." Another poster found Roxio interfered with Kodak software installs. Finding the toxic combo is always fun.
