Question about Televison & Video

Green line I have a thin green line that runs from top to bottom of the screen. Is there an easy replacement part for this problem? I have a Sharp Aquos LC-46D64U purchased early in January 2008 but not installed until early February. I have the same problem; a vertical green line, or band, about 12 pixels wide running from top to bottom on the far right side. It showed up instantly when installed. The green stripe appears ONLY on the HD channels. My installer didn't know what it was and suggested that it was probably originating from the broadcast. I might add that when the HD channels are full-screen, there is a 2-pixel WHITE line running from top to bottom on the extreme LEFT side. I have neglected to check it out until now. In searching the problem I ran across this FixYa site. Since it is too late to return it to the store, I will have to contact Sharp Authorize Service for a fix, I hope.

Have a similar problem that just started on a phillips 37 inch 37PFL5322D/37. Just purchased on 3/18/2008 and have maybe 20 hours on it. Tried it again today on a cold start after sitting all night no blue line (purplish blue like a rainbow color) more apparent on black backdrops.

Boy sure hope this goes away or I get to see a brand new T.V. get serviced with only 20 hours on it. Wish I could take this one back and maybe consider another model.

Sharp is very aware of the panel and main video processor problems. They should give you no problems on the repair. It sounds most likely you have a main video processor problem.

I had similar issues. I ended up having to replace the "Mother board" in my LCD HD TV. Basically a whole new screen, luckily it was still under extended warranty. Best regards.

Green vertical line on videocon 42inch plasma tv

Hello Depending how wide the line is their could be two possible causes.
I have two questions for you.
1. How wide is the line.
2. Does it run from top of screen to bottom of screen?
If the line is thin a single strait line then it is possible the PDP has gone Bad (Panel). (Screen). The screen will to be replaced.
If the line is at least 2 or more inches wide then its a buffer board which can be replaced. LG calls this board Hand insert Boards or display driver boards..

Thin Green line from top to bottom of screen

Usually the case with this issue is the LCD panel itself. After a certain long period of time, some LCD panels just bug out and stop working. ( not sure why, possibly the way they were assembled and manufactured. For instance the LCD Panel has 8 connectors ((top)) and 3 connectors ((left)) (((Depends on model)))that attach to the main board of the LCD Panel, and on many occasions the thin lines wear and cut and therefore loosing part of your screen. If i explain further how it works i can write you a good explanation, just message me. That is the issue or the Cable connector from the Video Card to the LCD Panel is faulty. Try replacing that or the line will stay there for a long while then eventually your LCD display will begin to show more lines and eventualy Nebula itself. ( unusable )

You can also try repairing the LCD, in some rare cases the only problem when the line shows up is because of the video genesis card inside the FPD. try swapping that out with a known good one and perhaps that will work otherwise eventually the monitor will begin to stop working over time.
