Read the owner manual more attentively please. There required to connect "brake wire" from the harness of radio to the "parking brake" - pedal sensor. or just coonect this wire to the ground wire or to the metal bolt of surface behind.

Which is the positive terminal?

There may be a dot of paint identifying the positive terminal. An old trick is to connect the negative pole of a flashlight battery to one terminal and briefly touch the top pole of the battery to the other terminal. If the cone moves outward, you have found the positive speaker terminal.

Good day, I just wanted to ask what the best settings are for audio of my insignia blu ray player...there is bit stream hd, legacy etc....I'm using a toslink cable. thank you so much

There are no best (as in tweaks) settings for digital connections. They either work or they don't. The manuals for all involved products tell you how to make them work. Without specific make/model info we can't get into any details. Your source material and its selectable audio options will determine what bitstream is transmitted out to your audio equipment.

Manual for teac 80-8

Wow- that's an oldie. I went on the Tascam web site (that's how they marketed that one) but did not find anything about legacy products. Anything specific or just need the diagrams? My manual went with the unit when I sold it.

I have my new HK3390 hooked to my legacy Polk monitor 7s. The Ohms and Wattage match pretty well. I have the positive hooked to the positive and negative to the negative. I only get a tiny bit of sound...

Never troubleshoot anything with the volume cranked up. The moment you find the mispositioned control you'll damage your speakers. If something isn't audible at half volume there's a problem.

Are the speakers activated?

Check that MUTE is not turned ON.

Make sure you don't have any Tape functions selected without a corresponding device attached and functional.

Need owners manual!

Unfortunately, Alpine considers that to be a "legacy" item, and they don't have a manual for it online. You can, however, order one for $5.00 from PacParts.com.

That link will take you directly to the order form.

What are you trying to do with the head unit that you need the manual for?

No Audio when I play Blu-Ray discs with Dolby TrueHD

For dolby digital to work you have to have the optical or coax cable hooked up to the reciever ,The HDMI cable is for digital video and audio output but does not support dolby digital out the cable into your reciever , so just turn off the dolby digital on your reciever and you should hear the sound.
here is more info

Dolby TrueHD is an advanced lossless multi-channel audio codec developed by Dolby Laboratories which is intended primarily for high-definition home-entertainment equipment such as Blu-ray Disc. It is the successor to the AC-3 Dolby Digital surround sound codec which was used as the audio standard for DVD discs. In this application, Dolby TrueHD competes with DTS-HD Master Audio, another lossless codec from Digital Theater System.
Dolby TrueHD uses Meridian Lossless Packing (MLP) as its mathematical basis for compressing audio samples. MLP was used on the earlier DVD-Audio format, but details of TrueHD and DVD-Audio differ substantially. A Dolby TrueHD bitstream can carry up to 14 discrete sound channels. Sample depths up to 24 bits/sample and audio sample rates up to 192 kHz are supported. Like the more common legacy codec Dolby Digital, TrueHD bitstreams carry program metadata. Metadata is separate from the coding format and compressed audio samples, but stores relevant information about the audio waveform. For example, dialog normalization and Dynamic range compression are controlled by metadata embedded in the TrueHD bitstream.
