While I don't have any first-hand experience with either Bazooka amps or Memphis subs, this review pretty much says what I initial thoughts were. The amp will do the job without much fuss, so it mainly depends on whether you can get it for a good price.
BUT........
There could be a issue with your sub. According to Memphis, your sub (assuming it's the single voice coil version) is only good for about 250W RMS (let's ignore peak power for now). The ELA500.1, on the other hand, puts out 375W RMS at 4 ohms. You could very easily overpower your sub with that amp.

I have a memphis amp that puts out 250 watts @ 4ohms and 500 watts @ 2 ohms. I want to hook up 3 sony 12'' explods @ 4 ohms a piece. How do I wire them to the amp to get the maximum output of 500 watts?...

well to be honest your amp probly cant handel 3 speakers because of the impedance levels so just hook up 2 bridges out to + to - on one Speaker then from that same speaker run + and - to the next one

A= amp
S= speakers

No idea!!

Have you checked the on-board fuses on the amp?

Have you confirmed, with a multimeter, that you have B+ and remote voltage AND a good ground? If not, do the following.

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp (not on the point where the ground wire connected to the vehicle) and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

Hey thanks alot for the help, the way its hooked up now the amp eventually gets way to hot and the shut-off saftey heat switch just comes on. wondering if you had any suggestions for a good amp along with...

I would definately say, in the world of amplifiers you usually get what you pay for. I would recommend getting a Memphis or MTX amplifier. Go to ebay, specifically search for memphis then in the search options make sure to put in mono or 1 channel. All memphis mono block amps are 2 ohms stable. In particularly I would recommend for you the PR series. it is the Power reference series and they are really boomy for the money. Anything that has the "ST" is getting a little old so I wouldn't recommend it but It still is a good amp, just not sure how long it would last and how badly it's been beaten in the past. Good luck. If you find an amp and are unsure let me know which one and I can help verify it for you.

Amp turns off after a couple minutes of playing

That's a new one on me.
The only electrical difference is the battery voltage on ACC is 12 volts. When you start the truck the alternator should put out about 13.7 volts. That would make me suspect a bad power supply in the amp or the output transistors, something in the amp is getting hot at the higher voltage and shutting it down

That would explain why you get two minutes ,and than when you turn the truck off the voltage drops back to 12 volts and the amp comes out of protect mode. Try a amp swap or if it's a self amplified tube, hook it up to a friends system.

Never hurts to put a voltmeter on the battery with the truck running, and off, to make sure the alternators voltage regulator
is not faulty and exceeding the rated voltage.
Good luck, let me know what happens, I'll ad it to the book.
Regards Paul
