Sounds like it needs a new power supply board.

Easy to replace, just open the TV up, unplug and unscrew the old one, pop in the new one!

I have a Sony Bravia 46'' TV. I bought a Universal WiFi Adapter from Walmart a few years ago for about $50. You have to plug it into the Ethernet port on the Bravia using an Ethernet cable (the other end of the Ethernet cable goes into the Ethernet port on the adapter). The adapter needs also a power outlet. I do not remember if the adapter came with the Ethernet cable (likely) or I had to buy it separately.

Before buying the adapter make sure that:

1. Your Bravia has an Ethernet port (on my Bravia it is in the back of the TV), and
2. You have/use a wireless router for your home network.

It can cost anywhere between £50 and $200 ($100 and £300) to get a 50 inch LCD TV fixed, if you have a Plasma TV, it'll be a bit more than that.

I have just bought a second hand Sony 50 inch Projection & the owner from new (paid 1200 Quid) assures me he has never replaced the bulb in 6 years. Don't pay 190 Pounds plus, if you can loosen 2 nuts you can get an Osram bulb alone (not mounted) for 32 Pounds 55 Dollars delivered if you search well on E Bay

You, more than likely, need a new lamp

what model of Sony is it? On many of the Sony projectors, a 3 flash error code indicates the lamp is not properly seated/installed or the lamp door is not closed properly
