TI-84 Plus Silver Edition - Slow or no response

My 10-grader's TI-84 is virtually useless... extremely or no response to keys. Installed fresh batteries, even the small "watch battery," but no joy. Tried blowing out the data port - by mouth, no canned air available, but again, no joy.

Any suggestins will be greatly appreciated~!

Blow in the i/o socket on top of the calculator. There's probably some dust stuck in it or something.

I blew on the I/O port and the mini-USB port. Everything worked just fine after that.

Use canned air to blow out any dust in and around the I/O and USB ports.

There is no such thing as a TI89 Plus Silver Edition.

If you mean the TI-89 or TI-89 Titanium, press diamond / (the diamond key below the 2ND key, then the divide key).

If you mean the TI-83 Plus Silver Edition or the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, press MATH left-arrow 4 .

My calculator is extremely slow and i cant fix it

Here is for you. From the TI Knowledge base.
Why does my TI-84 Plus or TI-89 Titanium respond slowly to key press entries?

Issue/Symptom: When making key press entries, the product responds slowly

If a piece foreign material such as a pencil lead is lodged in the I/O port of the calculator, it may create a short causing the calculator to respond slowly to key press entries.

If the piece of conductive material can be removed, it may restore the calculator to normal operating condition.

If the material cannot be removed, contact TI-Cares Customer Support to proceed with an out of warranty product replacement.

If conductive material is not lodged in the I/O port and the calculator responds slowly to key press entries, contact TI-Cares Customer Support for further troubleshooting and resolution.

I have a Texas Instruments TI-84 plus silver edition calculator, and I need to know if it has a exponent key?

If you want to raise a number to another, use the ^ key located just above the divide key.
For natural antilogarithm (exponentiation of e), use 2ND [e^x] (the shifted function of the LN key).
For common antilogarithm (exponentiation of 10), use 2ND [10^x] (the shifted function of the LOG key).
To enter a decimal exponent as part of a number, use 2ND [EE] (the shifted function of the comma key, located just above the 7 key.

I would suggest putting it in some dry rice. That will soak up all the moisture. You might also try drying it with a hair dryer.

Comma key on TI-84 Plus Siver Edition calculator.

The comma key on the TI 84 SE is above the 7 key, and it is just left of (, right of x squared, and below SIN. thats where the "," key is. If you're asking something else, please clearify. My understanding is that you don't know where the comma key is.
