Out of toner, when it isnt!

remove the used bottle. Turn off the machine. Turn on the copier and follow the directions. If it does not work, turn it off again, put in a new bottle then turn on.
If that doesn't work, turn it off and try to get a refund on your new bottle of toner.

The waste toner bottle is full. You can empty it into a trash bag but beware it is very messy. The waste toner door is on the rear right hand side of the machine. Remove the white bottle and carefully empty it out, then put the bottle back into the machine.

You will have to remove the waste toner bottle, put some cleaning solvent in the bottle and wash the toner out of the bottle.
Please the bottle out to dry before you replace it in the machine.

No you should not empty this bottle. It is designed to keep the excess toner inside itself and should be disposed of properly. The waste toner bottle can be emptied but you must clean it out with COLD water after you have emptied it...NOT HOT.
The machine "looks thro" the neck of the bottle to tell if its empty or full so if you empty the bottle and put it back on "dirty" then the copier might still think its full!!

Well, you put your self into a pickel. With the Di181 you most likly neede a new drum and cln blade & a good cleaning. Now with the Imagistics, you may have the same problem, but you put Minolta toner into a Imagistics. Thats like putting oil into water and wonder why they don't mix? Now you need to replace the drum & blade & developer & toner and vaccum out all the toner and start off with all new. Good Luck

Did you empty the bottle and put a new empty bottle on...OR did you empty the bottle and put the empty "dirty" bottle back on.????
The bottle has to be clean or the sensors that look at the bottle will still think its full.

I assume when you say you dispose of toner you are emptying out the waste toner bottle and putting it back in the machine. if so here's your problem.
There is a sensor, mounted to the copier, just behind the waste toner bottle (on the upper righthand side). This sensor shoots a beam of light through a small portion of the waste bottle - if the beam is not received on the other side then the copier thinks the waste bottle is full. NOW...even if you have emptied it the interior of the bottle may still be dirty/black enough (leftover residue) to stop the beam from making it through the bottle - this gives you the message. You will need to put in a new bottle.

You're going to get a little bit dirt with the trick, but there is no need to buy a empty waste toner bottel

Empty the waste toner bottle inside a plastic bag, the dust is kind of azard!!!, when the bottle is empty, clean it from the outside.
Place the bottle in the printer, (This is just for reference only), in the right side of the bottle you're going to see a plastic tag all dirty (You see it?) OK!!, remove the bottle from the printer, and then very carfully remove that plastic tag from the bottle taking care of not ripping it off, now clean the plastic tag, and put it in place again, and now your printer is ready to work!!!!!
Where's the trick?, The printer has a Photo sensor that is "looking" trugh this plastic tag, when the plastic tag is full of toner, the sensor can't get the signal, and then it says that the waste bottle is full..!!!

The copier has an "eye" that detects when the waste toner bottle is full. If you dump it and reuse it, the residue can build up and cause the machine to "think" the bottle is still full. I experienced the same problem. If you re-use an old bottle, after emptying, rinse our any remaining residue and dry the bottle out. Your copier should then notice the bottle being empty.
