If you see no lights on at all, no fans going or any sign of life, it may be the power supply that has died.
if you see lights on but the pc does not boot up (turn on) it could be one of many problems , we need more information
as it could be:

  • bad cpu
  • bad motherboard
  • bad memory chip
  • bad hard drive
  • fluctuation power from the supply
as you can see more info would be good, as that is the only guide we have .

good luck
Terry

Samsung n145 plus operating system not found

Hi There,
"operating system not found" generally means that your hardrive is dead. Listen to your laptop when you turn it on - if you can hear the harddrive spin up, you can probably access the recovery menu through the F10 function.
If not, you'll need a new hard drive and to reinstall your OS.
Thanks

Will not boot up

Ive done a few dell mini notebooks and this problem was always corrupt hardrive or the hardrive died. Solution take hardrive out plug it as external into another pc see if it spins up and you see it show up on pc. If it does then itll be just corrupted and will need windows reinstalling. If it doesn't youll need another hardrive itll be dead. There not expensive depending on what size you wanting. Hope this helped.

the usb port that your new hard drive needs is USB 2.0 whereas monitor has 1.0 SO IT WILL NOT WORK.

Wot spin the disc

The issue that you are having is that the motor and/or cd-rom/dvd-rom drive for your ps2 has gone bad which has actually occurred with a lot of slimline playstation 2's.

CD rom drive not showing up in

Common problem. CD driver did not install correctly.

Go to Device Manager. Unistall the CD drive. Reboot.

The Operating System will then rescan, locate the drive, and reinstall the driver.

Good luck.

Sony NW-A1000 will not play,

If you get the spinning disc error on your sony nw a1000 it means the hardrive is knackerd.
The hardrive in the sony NW A1000 is a segate ST1.2 6gb and these can be bought off ebay for around £8. If you can't find a 6gb one you can fit an 8gb hardrive BUT your NW A1000 will only use 6gb of it.

If you search on the internet you can find instructions on how to remove the back cover of your NW A1000 which is very easy to do! You then unplug the hardrive (be very careful!) and replace it with the new seagate hardrive. Turn the NW A1000 on and go to the home menu, select "settings", then select "intialize disc" and it will format your new hardrive so that it can work with NW A1000.

Power is on but I have a blank screen

Sounds like the hard drive crashed. Make sure the hard drive is seated back in properly, then hit the power button and listen closely. You should be able to hear it spin when the hard drive engages. If it does engage, you should hear it spin smoothly, if there are any clicking or dull thumking sounds, then it's shot and needs replacing.
