Question about Samsung HCM4215W 42" Rear Projection Television
On my Samsung the red seems to "bow" and is out of line with the other colors. Can I fix it or do I have to get it repaired. I tried the auto tuning and that didn't work. I was hoping to fix it myself. If I had to get a repair can you estimate what it would cost?
You have a very common problem for this model. It called the convergence circuit that is bad. It will require solder work and parts order and maybe some realignments after you change the ic's that are bad. if you are trying yourself look for a circuit board with a big metal heat sink on it may have 2 heat sink's with ic's mounted on them that are "STK IC's" they are what oyu need to change and usually 1 or 2 fuses or IC protector's near these IC's.
