Using Lowes mechanical timer in Hadco TC654-15 landscape lighting transformer. Have tried 3 timers now and timer clock does not work when plugged into the transformer. if I bypass the timer, low voltage...

Always a good idea to check outlet with cheap circuit analyzer.
And move timer to different outlet to see if difficulties are outlet-specific.
Try timer at neighbor's house.
Having 3 defects in a row is unusual.

There are no repairs for defective timers.

Timer clock motors stop working for many reasons, bad manufacturing of plastic gears and power surge and dirt and reversed polarity among the causes.
Using household plug-in timer is typical solution since clock modules are not sold separately.

I don't see your specific manual, but the operation might be similar to the ones shown here ... it could be that Malibu repeats the same instructions in different models

I just purchased Malibu ML 600 TW transformer, and ran wire and attached lights, but I can't get any of them to work. Perhaps I'm wiring it incorrectly? How do I test the transformer to see if it is...

The power pack has a humming sound >> put your ear close
Plug in a hair dryer on same plug to see if you have power
Check the GFI tripper in bathroom and kitchen
Plug power pack directly into receptacle (no extension cord)
It is hard to believe you got every light wrong >> the light connections are pretty fail-proof today

1) You can test the transformer by rotating manual override counterclockwise >> that's the on-off switch
2) You can test transformer by seeing if clock dial rotates with passing time > the clock must rotate
3) You can check if wires have power > disconnect wires > use another wire to scratch across both terminals to see if there is a spark

4) Did you put the red-and-black tripper pins on the dial? Red = ON Black = OFF

5) I think you forgot to set the time of day correctly
- put in tripper pins.
- rotate center dial clockwise to present time
- now, rotate dial two more full rotations and come back to present time

If the dial will not rotate or transformer does not have power, then the transformer is defective.

Timer stops at on postion? transfomer works, have to do it by hand

If the timer is stopping, it could be a physical obstruction. Or it could be an electrical mis wiring so that the timer is turning itself off at that point, check the incoming wiring and see if it makes sense, and follow the diagram to see if the incoming power is definitely not on any switched terminals, they would maybe be marked with NO , NC,

Malibu Light Transformer ML121RT troubleshooting

1) Disconnect the plug.
2) Remove the 3 hex screws holding the cover.
3) Make a note of all connections (taking a picture is even better).
4) Connect the black power wire to the red transformer wire.
5) Connect the white power wire to the white transformer wire.
6) Set your voltmeter to 20 or 50 volts AC (not DC and not less than 15 volts).
7) Plug the transformer in the wall.
8) Test the voltage coming from the A & B connectors at the back (polarity is irrelevant).
If you see 12 volts or thereabout, the problem is with the little switch (the one with the black and red wires that is activated by the trippers on the clock dial). I have the exact same problem but I have been unable to locate the part so I am going to try to clean the contact points and see if that works.
