Check power board for swollen capacitors and replace them. if that does not fix then remove the flat cables from the tcon board at the top. there will be no picture but if it comes right on replace the lcd panel. If it still is switching on and off replace the power board.

There is a problem with the power supply, which may be due to bad electrolytic capacitors. Alternatively, there may be a bad relay in the power supply.

Le40r88bd hdmi 3 not showing in menu, keeps going

Exact same problem with mine mate, and it died very soon after. It refused to come on and would just 'click' away. TV is 24months old. Luckily I took out the extended warranty and Currys have it just now trying to fix it. Will let you know what they come back with!

It doesnt switch on

Seems like your having a problem with-in your sustain circuit or the interface is developing a problem. Try turning it on and simultaneously keep pressing the tv/video button. If it comes on then the power supply is having problems initializing dc voltage. If it does not come on after several attempts then it needs to be serviced.

Tv stuck on standby

Power supply probably needs to be replaced if you don't even hear the relay click after the power is switched on.

You keep mentioning ( come out of standby ), You do know don't you that some systems are having problems with coming out of standby. A bios ( firmware ) update to the motherboard may fix this, but again it may not. If HP is saying that the system is working ' correctly ', then it probably is for the bios that is available for the system at this time. I would suggest not using the STANDBY mode but instead when you get done with the computer, shut it down, and restart it when you are ready to use it. I would like for you to try that possibly several times before deciding that it doesn't work for you. If you find that a complete restart of the computer doesn't alliviate your problem, please come back and let us know. I am assuming that you are in an area that has good wireless reception of course. Assumptions can be bad for a tech's health if you know what I mean.
