I have a Telxon PTC-710. We are getting an error code 68> . We use it to scan library barcodes for inventory. How can we reset/get back to our main menu? We would be grateful for any help/advice.

Hello,

Hit [6] to see what programs are within the directory. The programs will cycle through every time you hit the [Enter] key. You need to find a program with a y extension i.e. diagxx.y once you've found one hold down the [3] key for 3 beeps this will then start the program. If it returns to the 68> prompt then try a different y extension program.

Telxon PTC-710 just showing 66 on the screen

You have no arc chip below the os chip or the ptc is not seeing it.

Backup battery fault error on ptc 710

These old Telxon devices had a switch in the battery compartment to disable the backup battery for storage, power off the unit then change the switches position and try again.

If you still have the problem the unit will need a new backup battery fitting. The unit will need to be opened and a new cell soldered onto the mainboard.

Hold the 5 key down for three beeps. This should clear the memory and return you to your software application.

It might depend on your application, but I'd try downloading all the information you scanned more often than every 20K items. It's possible that you are filling up the memory in the unit and it won't accept any more.

PTC-710 telxon Cannot get unit to send new order. Old order stuck in memory. How do you clear all past orders?? Thanks

with the unit off, hold down the two keys on the bottom corner (enter, sp key) and press then release the on key while continuing to hold down the "enter" and "sp" keys until you get a promt on the display.
When a prompt comes up release all the keys. Hold down the 5 key for 3 beeps. The unit will test memory for about 1 min, then beep. Press any key to turn the device off. Then press the on key to power the unit back up.

I have a telxon ptc-610 and a new symbol LS2208 and can't get it to scan? Do I need to program?

Hello swschmidt. You are spot-on! You need to do a wee bit of configuration. I host he LS2208 manual on my company site for my clients (www.shiftintoblue.com/resources/ls2208_manual.pdf). Head to page 146: "Wand Emulation Host Parameters". Print that page and scan the 'Symbol PTC Terminal (Telxon)' barcode and you'll be all set. I hope this helped. Good luck!

PTC-960 scanner beep no longer sounds. Need to turn back on

There is no volume control on the Older style PTC960 (black brick on a stick)

Its either on or off. If its not on then its more than likely faulty.
