Re: Upright Driver is on the lock control
TRY UNPLUGGING THE DRYER OR DISCONNECT POWER BY TURNING OFF THE BREAKER. LET IT SET FOR 5 MINUTES OR MORE. THEN, REAPPLY POWER AND SEE IF THE MICROCOMPUTER RESETS. IF NOT, LOOK AT THE CONTROL FOR A LITTLE LOCK SIGN. SOME CONTROLS HAVE A CHILD LOCK FEATURE THAT LOCKS THE CONTROL AND HOLDING THAT BUTTON FOR 5 SECONDS WILL LOCK/UNLOCK THE CONTROL. IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT, TRY STARTING AT THE LEFT SIDE AND PRESS EACH BUTTON, ONE AT A TIME, FOR 5 SECONDS TO SEE IF ONE WILL UNLOCK THE CONTROL. IF YOU FIND IT, WRITE IT DOWN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

If this unit is "Popping" the CB, then you have a VERY serious fault, You will need to use a professional. This unit may ineed be dangerous to work on.
The best thing to do is to contact Whirlpool, and ask them for a referral to an authorised service center, make contact here and request a service call, now when they arrive ONLY first ask for a "Quote" as to whats wrong and costings and go from there.
How is the filter and exhaust pipe? Have you cleaned them recently? I think your machine has a clog somewhere between the filter and the outside vent hood.
Pull your machine away from the wall, remove the pipe ... if it is plastic, please consider replacing it with a metal one. Metal will not burn. Vacuum the pipe end to end - then check the flapper outside ... is it clogged? clean it.
There may be a capacitor in the motor circuit which has shorted out. The capacitor helps the motor start. If the capacitor is shorted, the motor won't start by itself, but will run fine if urged by hand. Good luck.
there are two thermostats..one above and one below the heating element..they probably need to be replaced..about 30 bucks canadian..have the shop check your heating element for resistance
I had the same problem with my Whirlpool, when I called around for prices one shop suggested the thermostats and then tested my element for conductivity. When it passed he sold me the thermostat replacements(they are sold in pairs) They were very easy to install, just make sure the wires are on correct..Check for small marks beside the leads and then match them up while removing old and installing new.
I hope this helps
