Re: T mobile MDA
There are screws underneath the battery, underneath the antennae and some stickers. once all of those are removed use a screw driver to slightly open the case. Go to youtube.com and check out how to solder. Don't get a cheap soldering gun you will need an expensive one to get it done right. You need one with a small tip. they are not easy to fix but they can be fixed.

another problem if anyone can help is how to send contacts from mda vario to mda vario III??????? its getting me down!!!!
also having problems with sync so cant load onto pc then copy but it used to wk!!
My daughter's MDA had the same problem. I just opened the phone and soldered the legs on the corners back to the board. You have to bend the pins on the back of the plug down to make contact with the board, before you solder. Place plug back down and line it up with contacts. If done right should work as normal. Hope that helps
Marc1234: sounds like the backlight is out......possibly a software malfunction.....try goign to www.t-mobile.com/wmuprade to reinstall the software....if that doesnt work, contact htc or your service provider....you will need a replacement. if youre out of warrenty, it will be a lost cause....
Guest,: your USB port is broken, if you dont fix it yourself, you will need another phone.
I'm dealing with the same problem overher in Holland. I'm looking for someone to "weld" the contacts.
