Question about Haier 5 cu. ft. / 142 liter Chest Freezer HCM050WA
A few days ago my haier 5 cu ft freezer quit working, I didn't notice the it 3-11-08. The items were still cold on top but was mostly unthawed; the items in the bottom were still froze. Do you think it would be the capacitor? The freezer motor is not making any noise or sounds, I've plugged and unplugged several time to see if any changes. The model of the freezer is HCM050EB or BF0132E0100; had two model numbers. Got any Ideas?????
Our freezer has done the same as Brenda's no noise no warning at all. What is wrong

You have one of three issues here.
Either the thermostat has gone bad,
The thermal cutout has gone bad ontop of the compressor,
or the capacitor is out for the compressor.
Take an hom meter and check the thermal cutout, it should read 0 ohms or "continuity" if it doesnt the cutout is bad.
The only real way to check the cap is with a cap meter.
as for the thermostat check it with a n hom meter to make sure you have good connections internal the thermostat.
If you have any other questions just let me know!
