Universal cable company remote control codes

I am in desperate need of remote control codes so I can program my Brighthouse Cable Co. remote to adjust volume, power, run Tv/Dvd and DVR. Without this code I am paying for a service that I can not use and that isn't fair. I have a Symphonic TV/DVD Combo. Model # WF20D4

I happen to be a Jumbo Universal remote Expert here at Fixya, so I hope I can help. It is possible that this remote just won't run your Motorola cable box, but I wouldn't give up until I had tried the codes from the list in the manual, as well as run through the auto-setup feature of the remote for CBL and for SAT, where it just tries all the cable box codes one at a time.

I was able to find a working motorola codes for an Innovage Jumbo Remote, a three digit code remote you might as well try: 051.

You have probably tried the codes for Motorola (031) and GI (000, 032) from the manual using these steps:

1. Turn on the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Locate a 3-digit code for your device. (000, 031 & 032 for example)
3. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(CBL) for approximately three seconds. The POWER INDICATOR illuminates.
4. Enter the 3-digit code for your device within 30 seconds. The POWER INDICATOR shuts off.
5. Press the ON /OFF button to verify correct code entry. If the device shuts off, the code was entered correctly. If the device does not shut off, repeat steps 3-4, using a different code located on the Code List.

If those are still a bust, try the GI SAT codes 018 & 019.

Have you tried the following steps with both CBL and then SAT to search it's database?

1. Turn on the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(SAT or CBL) until the POWER INDICATOR on the remote control illuminates. The remote control is in programming mode.
3. Press and release ON /OFF. The POWER INDICATOR on the remote control flashes once and stays on indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.
4. Press CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN repeatedly until the device turns off.
5. When the device turns off, press any key to store the code.
6. Press any other button. If the device responds, the remote control has been programmed. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-5.

I hope that helps.

I called Comcast and they had no clue. But I called Sylvania and their reps were FABULOUS!!! Turns out, the TV makers send the cable companies the frequencies for each TV then the cable companies send them to a 3rd party to get the codes written.

This model of TV is new and there is no code written. The rep suggested that we countinue to check back on the Comcast website regularly to see if the code is posted. She said that the sales reps tend to get the info last.

The Sylvania rep anticipates a new code written soon because this is such a prevelant problem.

I need a remote code for a rca remote for the olevia remote control can you help

Unfortunately Olevia is one of those t.v. brands that is not compatible with many universal remote controls. They make a Universal Learning Remote specifically available from Olevia on their web site that may solve your problem if your universal remote control turns out not to be compatible with your Olevia television.

As for what codes you can try, there are many, and the codes depend on your universal remote control brand. Many times, an RCA code will work for Olevia televisions, so you should try the RCA codes that come with your universal remote first, before trying any of these other codes.

If you have a Dish Network Universal Remote you can use code 506 or 127.

Direct TV remote codes vary by model number on the remote control, but the following codes work with most Direct TV remotes: 506, 127, 11144, 11240, 11331, 11610

Cable Vision use code 506

Charter and Movie Box remotes you can use 1144 or 1178

Comcast codes are 11144, 11240, 11331, 21075, 10159, 10154, and 10088

Cox code is 1610

Brighthouse remote codes are 1610, 1144, 1240, and 1331

Time Warner remote codes are 1610, 1144, 1240, 1331, 432, and 1610

If none of these brands are what you are looking for as far as your Universal Remote Control is concerned, many universal remote controls will work with Olevia televisions if you use the codes found under the RCA, LG, Phillips, and Yamaha in the code listing included with your remote control.

the problem was not solved - your premium advice person could not find the code for this tv - I had asked him several times how the rate for this service from him was calculated - by the minute what and he never answered me on this - $25.00 later he gave me the same information that I already had - link to the tv maker vivitek web site and a picture of Bright house cable companys remote control directions that my dad already had. I won't use this service again. Joan Valva joanvalva@comcast.net
especially since I asked how my fee was determined for using this service was never answered.

Usually on a universal remote (after programmed) the volume is controlled by pressing the cable button then adjusting the volume. When you turn your tv on by pressing tv power---then flipping through the channels by pressing cable--channel up or down. The remote (in my experience usually only controls the volume while in the cable mode)

Remote control

There is a section in the tv manual that list the codes for different cable boes. it also has a walk thru on how to set the cod up. If the factory remote does not support your cable box, then I suggest that you purchase an aftermarket universal remote. Remember, you get what you pay for. Spending $300.00 on a remote isn't for everyone. But there are alot of GREAt universal remotes out there that will operate all of your electronics for around 20 bucks. Good luck. If you do not have your manual, go to http://www.mitsubishitv.com and you will be able to download an adobe copy of it there.
