I think you have a corrupted audio driver..
You did not say what your operating system was so you will have to pick your driver from the list to work with your operating system...7, Vista, XP.
Note: Download the newest driver available for your operating system.
Go to the following webpage and download and install the audio driver for your Acer Aspire 4520.
Please take time to rate me
Try downloading the drivers from the Acer WEB site. Make sure youselect the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers youthat require and it matches the Windows version that is installed on yourlaptop. Use this link to get to the Acer support: - http://www.acersupport.com/drivers_download.aspx
If your laptop is the 4520, you need to download and install one of the wireless drivers (last 2 on the list) from http://www.laptops-drivers.com/acer-notebooks/free-download-driver-acer-aspire-4520.html (Check to see which one your laptop has, in Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager.
If it's the 4530, look here http://seoroot.com/blog/driver-downloads/acer-aspire-4530-and-acer-aspire-4520g-windows-xp-drivers-download.html
