Question about Aprilaire 700 Humidifier
Since its installation in December, my humidifier makes a loud "Glonk" when the furnace turns off. The noise is coming from the solenoid switch which does not sound as loud when standing next to the unit, but it seems to reverberate throughout the house. My contractor, who had been around a long time, went out of business shortly after the install with a new Trane furnace. I have a different contractor who installs Aprilaire products and who has been fixing lots of issues with the unit since its install, i.e. replaced fan motor, humidistat, and, in an attempt to stop the noise, a new solenoid. Now I'm being told that this noise is typical and I "need to get used to it".
Try turning the water valve going to the soleniod down. There may be too much pressure. You may have to replace solenoid one more time after making the adjustment.
